standard plasma, as fitted by Williams

all 3 of my pins have normal plasma displays in, that's why I hook it up whilst the real pinball supplies the power

keep meaning to place my order with noah for a vishay, then I can fit that into the cab without any voltage problems. (and if I get bored of that, I'm hoping to buy another real pin that has a dodgy display anyway)

Just using whatever was installed when I got it, should I update it ? - mind you, just ordered the Vishay, so it will ultimately be used with an LED display (unless I get V2 before that arrives)

So I'm confused, I know basically nothing about FP, haven't bothered to run it myself, but I thought it wouldn't talk to pinMAME, how is is working in that video with the DMD?

There is no pinMAME involved, FP authors don't (can't) use ROMs. They program everything themselves.

Great job with the DMD, Macro.
How I wish FP was made open source... the possibilities would be almost endless with all the creative forces out there.

Testing complete (well, for what I want it to do so far anyway)

imagelist now works properly, fonts still look OK. here's some more video to see what you all think. (Tutenkham table - an FP only creation - did have to make a minor mod this time, rename the HUDdmd to mydmd2 and rename the translite DMD to MyDMD) - the program picks up the first DMD it finds, and the table only drives the HUD one, so of course, it picks up the translite one first!

bent I think in it's current state it is working for pinDMD 1 only, Macro is working on adding the code so it will work with both pinDMD 1 and 2, hopefully all in one package.

pinDMD2 using totally different coms to pinDMD1 so im not sure how Marco is going to switch between the 2, if he is going to just have two different applications or one that does a simple check to see what device is connected?

probably easier to just have two applications one complied for v1 and one compiled for v2 depending what device you have is which one you use gets a bit messy otherwise



release date is hopefully around early jan 2013, i get my prototype board back form assembly next week and if it all works as expected ill place the 100x pcb+ assembly order and this takes around a month to complete and have the boards shipped to me.

this all depends on my prototype is ok and i have designed the pcb correctly any mistakes / it does not work will throw the project off quite a bit as i have to figure out what's wrong / get another prototype board made / assembled and this all takes time im hoping i got it all correct first time round though

Plus already ordered the x100 ic batch n tht was not cheap lol

Yup, works out of the box with the Xpin 5v.

That's great, and it doesn't need to be disconnected or anything does it when a table isn't running?
