No stutter on six million dollar man, same settings.
Frame rate 415
Period 2.6

Do you have stutter in Kingpin too?
I'll have to try it out and get back to you.
Do you have a link to the table?

Hey Toxie way back in March I had asked about supporting CSAA, MSAA to take care of the dreaded jaggies. You mentioned due to technical limitations on how VP renders things (main reason: the separation of static and dynamic table elements, but also other tiny details).

Have you made a progress in separating static and dynamic table elements? I just figured I'd asked as I havent been following development as close as I used to.

With vpx2331, all I get when I launch/play VP table is a black screen.  The pause dialog box is visible when I hit esc.  This happens even with the default new table.  No difference in fullscreen or windowed mode. The last vpx I used was is 2290 and it is working fine

Just a heads up

went to launch rev2324

and got this error

post-73849-0-57410200-1446418698.png

the fix was to download the missing DLL

but adding it to System32 folder didnt work for me...

I had to add it to the SysWOW64 folder, now its fine....

Hey Haunt, thanks for this tip. I encountered the same problem on rev 2331, downloaded the missing DLL and added to the SysWOW64 folder and all is good!

Status is still the same.

the text box dmd for vpm.

what would the possibility be to have that also display segment displays like on say seawitch.  for desktop tables.

i know i can always use reel or light based segments for the desktop mode.  but would be much easier and streamlined if the textbox method worked like it does for the vpm dmd

I planned that since a while, but its much harder than expected, due to all these different layouts of segments. :/

this should hopefully not be necessary with the latest build due to an updated SciLexerVP.dll, but i'll check myself.

Tried the latest JD _7 table and that runs perfectly smooth. Below are F11 results
2a4f6a3dfef9297106ac6a85b85bc5a4.jpg
And as for kingpin, that table has the black shading across the bottom third of the table. F11 results as follows.
3dcf84946c1780d63c0a374b3ef512b0.jpg

Only 60FPS and a relatively higher period. Table shows signs of stutter around slingshots and inlanes. It seems to happen at random.

This table however plays the best out of the lot. Very realistic compared to a real table, very predictable. Whoever built this table did a great job with the physics settings and I think the settings should be explored further.
Well done.

I'd really like to try TX-sector but the links to that one are broken as well.

The "black shading" should have been fixed by the last build

Yes, if I enable the Ambient Oclussion option in Video Pref with 2290, I get all black VP player screen.  I have never enabled AO previously on my laptop, so I wasn't aware of this behavior.

I can try to see if there are updated video drivers and report back if it addresses the issue.  But I guess forcing AO on all users might have compatibility issues, so an option to disable might still be best

Thanks

Glad to hear you are not having big issues anymore. Kingpin table was made by a lot of talented people. It is really great and the attention to detail is out of this world. That is ICPjuggla and fren department..... and I may add that the playfield graphic is one of the best looking in my screen/tv (just been honest), I can not find any blur or washed out spot in it, it's like a brand new PF. Loved how it turned out.

fun fact: I never saw how it turned out in a big tv screen, I only saw it on my monitor 22" when I was testing it... and oh my... lol

So.... it doesn't have to do with frame rates?

Please try updating the drivers. In principle AO shouldn't make any trouble, its also the first time that i hear about the black screen issue on a NVIDIA machine.

rev2341 is up:

- Ambient Occlusion is now working for NVidia, AMD and Intel graphic cards

- disable aniso filter for mirror blend
- Automatic autocomplete can be turned off in preferences, Ctrl-Space can still be used. Core parser now detects unclosed constructs.

I especially like how the ball bounces on the flippers when trying to catch the ball, it's exactly how real tables play.
The stutter is still there however.

I might test a newer video card just to rule it out.
