Ah ok. So a quick replacement of the bumpers is the best solution then.

I also looked into this table-problem for way too long now, and i cannot explain this effect.

My best guess is that its actually a more general bug, that is somehow not happening most of the time otherwise, but showing itself here.  :/

Finally tracked it down. So no more buggy reflections.  ;)

Thanks UW for the testcase.

Bug? - Spinner Overhang has no effect. It shows longer in the editor but it renders exactly the same.

For example the "New" table the sample spinner has an overhand of 30, you can make that 0 or 300 it still shows the same.

it should change the length & hence the wire of the spinner.

Yes, its pretty much ignored except in the editor view.  :/

I'll look into it.

Yes it's a leftover from the original spinner implementation. The new one is a modified FP spinner primitive added to VP. So there is no use of it anymore and can be removed.

Edit: I've just checked the code and the only place where overhang is used it for the collision handling. It doesn't have an impact on the actual mesh. But I think length/height are the correct properties for that. Will change that later

I know I may be beating a dead horse here, but has anyone come up with a setting that gets rid of this screen tearing in VPX? I have it on 3 different systems on all tables. I've tried every video setting, pre-rendered frames, frame limiting and V-sync setting I can think of both in the software and on the nvidia control panel. Happens on both my 660 and 770. This may be small, but it catches my eye every time it runs through that area of the table and not being able to find a solution is driving me bonkers.

Since I can't find a solution for this and I also have this problem, maybe some of you guys can help us out?
Sorry if this has already been addressed.
Thanks!

Best regards

Jasper

What about setting vsync to 120 and/or max prerendered frames to 1/2? And do not overwrite anything with the control panel.

As far as I know this issue still exists. Although I don't think it exists for everyone, but it seems to be a mystery as to what is different in the users systems how don't have this anomaly. Either that or it does exist and they just don't see it like some of us do.

or pre-rendered frames to 0, should usually be better anyhow nowadays with VP10.

I'll try this. I think the problem disappears when I choose a resolution other than 1920x1080 windowed full screen.

I tried the vsync settings set to 120. This made the tearing on the disappear but when flasher go on and of I can still see the tearing lines in the area lit by the flasher.
Also when I rapidly move the flippers multiple times in a row, I can see some vertical lines separating the flippers a little bit, like it's a pre-rendered image not aligned properly.

Thanks for the help

Edit: the lines seem to have moved to another part of the playfield, a not so eye-catching one but they're still there.

I notice people waiting for the release of 10?... its a 2minute or last update to bring the beta's up to date (as well as when it's fully released)... a whopping 6mb so
dont let that scare ya or left in the dust... its so not a big deal... this is coming from a pretty lazy dude... I do nothing that might mean more work for myself...
so people bite that bullet and dont look back.... plus ya get to have all your fav vp8, 9, pm5's as well... ;)

So does the beta support all those past version tables of VP ? PM5, VP9X?

No!

You can open the tables in the editor, but not play them other than the .vpx ones mad for VP10. It's too much changes between versions.

no.... but it is very very simple file/folder structure to run them all... i'm a bit anal and do go overboard when it come to clean folder structure ie I have all my tables for ever VP version in there own folders... that's not really necessary it just help in know what is where... but all the frontends support running all versions of VP...  add VPX!!... it really is awesome ;)
