So I played around with Git and SVN and sourceforge today at work (was a slow day), but I have no idea what I'm doing so don't know how to submit a change back for you to integrate into VP.  Long story short all I want to do is change the dimensions for Gottlieb System 80 Widebody to 23.875" x 47.875" as has been verified on at least two of the actual machines. If you guys could make that change I would appreciate it, thanks.

Speaking of dimensions manager, is there any way to put an 'apply' button in there that will copy the values to the active table?  I feel like that was asked before, but don't remember.

rev3582 is up:

- add apply button to the dimensions manager to apply the selected dimension to the active table.
- add BorgDogs Gottlieb System 80 (widebody) change
- restore prev behavior that each script editor window is a global one

Hey guys, just wanted to bring something to your attention if it is in fact an issue with VP or just something I'm doing wrong. I've noticed the ball will occasionally phase through the pop bumpers every now and then. We did some basic testing on the example table and were able to recreate it but only by manually moving the ball with ball control. I could be wrong but it seems to happen more and possibly only when the bumper is invisible?

Example here at 4:33  https://youtu.be/lCvxs91qelk?t=272

Thanks! I know that kiwi reported that long ago in the 10.4 or 10.5 beta phase but we are unable to reproduce it. Knowing it has to do with the invisible option could help finding it.

I had general lighting connected to the bumpers, lights on = bumper enabled, lights off = bumper disabled.

Bumper1.HasHitEvent = True

Bumper1.HasHitEvent = False

When the lights went on and off, something messed up the state of the bumpers, and caused the issue.

Now the bumpers and slingshots are connected in a standard way with the classic Tilt routine.

On latest and first time I've managed to crash a table twice with reboot in between. Have adjusted my video settings so it might be related - or even the table. First time I played it. Mini dump not saved so maybe impossible to figure out ?

Okay, i was able to put a simple file together to try and replicate the bumper problem and it does. This has the Firepower Bumpers in the same configuration (VP Bumpers are not visible) with triggers tied to msgbox's to detect the bug.

After a few moments the ball will phase through all four bumpers and display a message.  Invisibility does not seem to make a difference but I'm going to continue to change the conditions until I can find something consistent.

Another request I would have for the next release would be to have a local control for volume levels to override global levels. I noticed some people playing my tables can't hear the "Sound Effects Volume" as intended by me because their global setting is set differently to mine. So I have no control over the audio. I wouldn't want to completely override their settings i know people have them set to a specific level for their build but maybe just a setting under Table Options/User Customization like In-Game AO and Anti-Aliasing have an "On" or "Default" setting.

Here is a video uploaded by a user showing the issue. You can barely hear the core sound effects as I intended.  https://www.youtube....h?v=lCvxs91qelk

That's sounds like a great vision team :D :D

If success, does this mean that VP11 will be less cpu and maybe gpu-intensive as well at the same time as it would use a more modern rendering engine or something?

I "only" have a GTX970 now, and some tables can not be played as they should!

Sorry I can't find the spot where it crashed. Seems to be somewhere in a windows dll maybe some COM related thing but based on the crash dump I'm not able to find the root of the crash in VPX.

Exported the table physics on ACDC ( or any other table I tried) to a VPP file. If I import it to another table all the values populate as they should.

But if I go the Global Physics Options and pick a set then Import the VPP file, On flipper settings, the flipper strength populates the elasticity field and the return strength populates the strength field and the return strength field with the same setting.

I went back and tried 10.5,10.4 and 10.31 final versions and got the same problem. However if I run 10.2 final the fields populate as they should.

What's worse if I go into a table in user customizations and set Overwrite physics by global set and pick one between 1-8 there doesn't seem to be any change to the table's play.

I even set one to flipper strength of 10 and the flippers were normal strength.

I haven't played with Global physics for a long time, is this a bug or something wrong on my end. Everything else seems to be working normally. I'm currently using 10.6 R3569 and SamVPM 3.2

rev3584 is up:

- fix ball through bumper issue
- check gate type explicitly for tables that were saved in the phase where it could've been undefined some years ago

Note: please test this revision a bit more because I had to change just a bit in the physics engine to fix the bumper issue. I don't think that the change has any impact on other elements like gates, flippers or gates but who knows ;)

wanted to let you know I just tested the Custom Params via vpx commandline in 10.6 and it works wonderful...perfect.

thanks for the feature.  Now, the next version of Popper will support 'alt-run profiles' with same vpx file so opens up lots of customizing via script/launch.

rev3584 is up:

- fix ball through bumper issue
- check gate type explicitly for tables that were saved in the phase where it could've been undefined some years ago

Note: please test this revision a bit more because I had to change just a bit in the physics engine to fix the bumper issue. I don't think that the change has any impact on other elements like gates, flippers or gates but who knows ;)

It could potentially influence bumpers, kickers and triggers.

Will look into this, thanks!
