Monster Bash VP9 FS

Monster Bash VP9 FS
Table built and scripted by unclewilly. Graphics and textures by Ace9567 & unclewilly

Thanks to NF & UR for the flipper settings, and Tab and all who contributed Images.

There is an occasional bug in which the flash doesn't turn off on the frankenstein. I will address this in a future update.

Added options menu which allows for changing the rom and disabling the fading gi. The table can be a beast with the fading gi depending on your pc specs. There is still gi lighting when disabled it is just on and off.

I hope you enjoy it

-unclewilly

P.S. If You would like the high res version which requires a pretty decent pc, you can get it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=21NJOYQJ

Updated to v1.1

Adjusted the slope and flipper physics (thanks UR)
If the table plays too slow for you just go to the backdrop page and change the global difficulty. It needs to be a value between 0 and 1. it is set at .1 so there is some room to play

Fixed the graphics bugs. You should use vp9.07 to avoid the black boxes around certain toys.

Changed the frank animation so it no longer stays stuck on the flash texture, also is much smoother

Added Steely and Pinball Kens Ball collision engine.
Extract the included .vbs file to your table directory.
This last one is a nice improvement... you will see when you get your first multiball. Thanks PK and Steely

**********IMPORTANT*********
You must delete you nvram file or you will experience some errors until you do, or at least that was my experience.

Also here is the v1.1 high res link
Faster and more reliable
http://dl.dropbox.co....V1.1.uw.FS.zip

2.1 Update
Reduced Texture sizes
Added DOF Option
Fixed Rolover lights blocking inserts

This is the best i can get the table fps
vsync set to auto will help smooth it out if the ball is choppy.
If you use the most recent revision of the vp9.21 beta you can set the vsync per table

Will there also be a "standard" version so that those without cabinets will be able to play it? smile.gif

The high-res version runs perfectly on my system, though I have the fading GI lights disabled - thanks for giving us that option! The toys like Frank are a little blurry, but everything else looks ridiculously sharp. This table might have the cleanest, sharpest, most detailed playfield I've ever SEEN in VP.

Thank you Uncle Willy and Grizz and anybody else I forgot wink.gif This table is Beautiful. This has to be your best table to date IMO. The lighting is awesome.
Give yourself a big pat on the back you deserve it.
I may be wrong but I thought there was a hologram of the Creature when it's lit. Here is what I get

Anyway Thanks again for another great table.

I get the same image on the 4:3 table as well for the creature. I just ran a flasher test just to double check it.

it is not a hologram, but a plastic figure with a flasher shown on it. If you look at the texture there is an actual figure there, but in these angles it is blocked by the plastic. the actual texture looks like this:

"it will all be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end"

Ok I see what you mean now. Now with this reference pic I can see the top of it on my SS as well. Thanks for clearing that up UW.
Been playing this table for the last hour now. Man you do one hell of a job on your tables.

Does the ball seem just a little 'floaty'? if i rolled gravity up to 1.66 will that jack everything up?

When you first start the game, there is a menu that asks which rom set you want to use. I put a check mark at HIDE THE MENU. How do you get the menu back to change which rom set you want to use?

search the script for MB_Init. You will see this:

Sub MB_Init
vpmInit Me
'SaveValue cRegistryName, "Options", 0 : Exit Sub ' This will clear your Registry settings if uncommented

uncomment that line, run the table, then comment out that line again. it clears the settings and the menu will be shown again

Im feeling the same 'floaty' feeling here with the ball also. what would be a good setting to try?

I am not getting a lot of the lights on the table, they are just black. I didn't really realize it until I downloaded and used the intro vid. When I turn off HD render the table surface goes away, and I can see the lights working. The problem is the High res table. If I use the low res, it works fine. Any thoughts? (besides just use the low res version)
