...how many more VP vs FP topics before people get bored, there is no right and wrong, they both have advantages an disadvantages - just play both and stop worrying about it.

Perhaps this is language Cysma can understand ?
I agree. FTW, and both programs already have free DLC.

Hi Brian - sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. I suppose at this point I have to admit that I'll probably not going to get back to developing VP in any real way, so yes sure go ahead and make it open source.

- Randy

So VP is open source now. Let me know if anyone here wants to work on it or needs code. I've started to set up a repository on Sourceforge for it - it uses Scintilla for the script editor (free to use). I'm just working out the details with Nanotech Entertainment now. The code cannot be sold in a commercial product without a license from Randy and Nanotech Entertainment - for personal use, or free use, it is free.

*Alarms, Sirens, and all sorts of noisemakers go off* THIS IS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED! This is quite revolutionary in the history of VP! I never thought the day would come when this would happen! This is totally unprecedented, and this is a HUGE milestone!

Holy CRAP!!!!!

LOL, I just finished editing the message requesting it be split off and it wouldn't let me because it got... split off smile.gif.

I recommend a two part approach:

- Who's interested in developing?
- What additions would you like to see in VP? (to bring focus to updates).

This is pretty fantastic, wow!

Personally, I'd like the help system to be more un-cryptic, like FP. FP has a great help system, and the more organized it is, the better off we are.

I know what "open source" is, but regarding VP, what exactly will this mean? For those that aren't quite aware, what are the major improvements this could bring?

Best news ever! (after the birth of my two children of course).

Thanks Randy for releasing it to the community.
