Rails - an original table in the style of an older EM machine.
I started with the table Buccaneer - authored by allknowing2012, VP 10.2, Sept 2016.
This one is train themed. I tried a couple new things for this table. I like to hold the ball and line up my shots and this table forces me to not do that sometimes.
Thanks again to the VP community for all of your help! I hope I have left proper credits in the script - if I missed something, please let me know so that I can correct that.
Please let me know if you find any bugs. I'd love to hear any ideas or comments.
Feel free to use or modify anything in the table.
In case you are interested, this table actually has a few goals. Unlike my other tables where you just hit stuff and try not to lose the ball. It might be more fun to play if you know the objectives:
* The main goal is to light up the red, blue, yellow and green lights.
The captive ball on the left lights the red or blue lights. The captive ball on the right lights the yellow or green lights.
There is a diverter in each captive ball path that can be switched by hitting the left or right standup target.
If you light up an entire row, you earn a bonus. If you light up a column, you earn a bonus.
The points for these lights are added when either the ball drains, or you hit the saucer (behind the drop targets).
* Another goal is to knock down all 8 drop targets in the center and shoot the saucer behind them. This counts up any light bonus and also starts "train mode"
* Another goal is to light all 4 rollover targets. They toggle on/off each time they get rolled over, so it's a little tricky to get all 4 lit at the same time. This also starts "train mode"
* Another goal is the plunger skill shot. You can use this to get a "multi-ball" scenario.
At the top of the screen there are five "doors." Two with red, two with yellow and one with green. There are also 3 flashing lights - red, yellow, and green.
There is a wire rollover target at the top of the shooter lane. If you hit that when the red light is on - the red doors drop. yellow light = yellow doors drop. green light = everything but green door drops.
If you pull the plunger all the way back, your ball will almost always end up in the far right lane. Try pulling the plunger at the right time and right amount so your ball ends up behind a door that doesn't drop.
Then shoot the second ball and watch the remaining doors drop and enjoy multi ball. Or shoot the second ball just hard enough so it hits the trigger and rolls back down - that's like getting an extra ball after the first drains.
* There are "posts" next to each flipper. At the start of a round they are down and you can't raise the flipper to hold a ball and line up a shot. The Star rollover behind the left spinner will raise and lower the left post.
The Star rollover behind the right spinner will raise and lower the right post. When the post is up, you can trap the ball and more easily line up a shot.
* There is another post between the flippers. When a ball is launched it will go up and light the 3 lights below it. Each time you hit a flipper, a light goes out and when all the lights are out, the next flipper move will lower the center post.
It's a good ball saver, but the ball can still sneak by if you are not careful. That post will also raise each time you hit a drop target - otherwise the ball would drain most of the time.
* TRAIN MODE - basically a lot of dinging and points. Walls and posts come up, making it hard, but not impossible, to lose your ball.
* Train horn - during train mode, the "W" symbol will flash. In railroading, a W on a sign is for whistle - or blowing the horn. Hitting the start key (usually the 1) will blow the train horn. It doesn't score any points, it's just for fun.
* I don't usually do a lot of nudging, but it can be really helpful on this table. Just don't overdo it or you will tilt.
