Hi everyone,

First time poster and very much a newbie in the virtual pinball community.  I had no idea how amazing and large this community is.... so many great products and people.  Thank you in advance for taking time to review this post.

Some Context:

- I own a Vertigo cabinet from a company called VPCabs.net.   It is about 6 years old.  This company was on a show called Shark Tank and that is how I was introduced to Virtual Pinball.

- The cabinet is a tall two monitor cabinet... a large vertical playfield.. and a small monitor above it for DMD stuff.

- The cabinet was working great until a couple of months ago on Windows 7.

- Steam (which is the home of Pinball FX3 tables) put up an alert to update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or steam would no longer work.

- Additionally, Steam put in some form of new "code" login authentication requiring email verification. This would normally be fine, but the guy who built these cabinets set everyone up with a custom email address... which is now dead after he sold his company.  The new company killed the email server.

- So, I had to rebuy every table from Pinball FX/FX2/FX3 on my personal Steam account.  No problem doing that... but I think that is also contributing to some issues.

- Once I upgraded to Windows 10 and got my own Steam account going, PinballX, the menu wheel system that lets me cycle through and pick my tables/arcade games started to fail.

Current Main Problem:

- When PinballX loads, I used to click the left and right flipper buttons and cycle through games.  Now the flipper buttons are dead and do not function in PinballX.

- I opened the settings and went through the wizard.  The Keyboard Input settings allowed me to re-assign the left and right flipper buttons, the launch button, etc.  All seemed to be fine in the settings when I finished the wizard.

- However, the actual PinballX menu wheel does not seem to be listening to the settings and still will not use the flipper buttons.

- What is even stranger, I have this remote control keyboard thing that came with the cabinet.  When I click on the left mouse button on this remote control the wheel menu cycles to the right.   When I click on the right mouse button.. nothing happens.   Nowhere in the PinballX settings is there a button assigned to the left mouse... it is very strange.

- Even stranger, one of the joystick buttons on the top of the cabinet works to "launch" each table even though that is not the button assigned in the settings (i have the flippers down the side.. and a joystick with 3 buttons on the top)

- So... the settings look right... but the menu is not working according to the settings I have put in.

Any ideas on why that might be happening and where I might be able to fix it?

Additionally, I thought maybe I should go update PinballX, but the site for that download appears to be down the last couple of days and no longer functioning.

Secondary Problem:

- When I pick a PinballFX3 table and launch it... I used to get taken right to the table itself.  Now I get taken into the main Pinball FX3 game menu.   So the individual tables (for Steam tables) no longer launch properly.   Not sure how to fix that either.. but this is a secondary problem haha.

I have been reading some of the large installation guides (so helpful thank you) and going through the steps... but the above issues are now a roadblock to progress.

Hoping someone can help and that its maybe an easy fix or missed setting somewhere.

If useful, here are the cabinet specs after the Windows Update:

- Windows 10 - 64 bit (from Windows 7)

- Intel Core i3 7310T @ 3.4Ghz

- 8 gigs of DDR 4 ram @1200Mhz

- ASRock B250M-HDV (CPUWSocket) Motherboard

- 2047MB NVidia Geforce GTX 1050 (MSI)

-250GB SATA SSD

Thank you again for your time... looking forward to being a part of this great community.

Regards,

Darryl

The PinballX site is backup now (think there was an issue updating forum software), so you can download the latest version of PinballX.

For the other issues you'll probably need to attach your pinballx\config\pinballx.ini and pinballx\log\log.txt files... but it does sound like maybe you have (or had) joytokey or similar software running that maps button inputs to key inputs and it was the key inputs that were configured in PinballX rather than button inputs?

Hi there.  With the site back up and running I was able to fully update the PinballX software and it seems to have fully resolved the main issue and now the buttons are all functioning correctly.  Really happy about that.

Next step will be going through the individual installation guides for each major system (PFX3, VP, Future Pinball, Etc) and testing/tweaking things out further :-)
