Hi,

My Parents have brought a Pre-Built Full Size Virtual Pinball Pinball machine. ($5,800AUD)

More Likely a Chinese PC Spec's, And Yes, The OS is locked. (Black Screen when it try exit the pinup popper.) And It's show it's running on Windows 10.

(And Yes, My Dad's says it's good idea to upgrade something better.)

The PC:

CPU : I5 9400F
Motherboard : B365 / H310
Hard Drive : 512 SSD
Video : GTX 1060
RAM : 8GB DDR4

(On a Micro-ATX/Mini-ITX Tower Case *Small Tower)

And the Cabinet itself.

Pinup Popper sysem 1330 pinball games + 1000 jukebox song.
Screen size : 49''4K (120hz *claimed) (playfield) + 32'' HD (Backglass) + 16'' HD(DMD)
Mechanical Feedback Package : 2 x contactors, 8 x Solenodis,1 x gear motor. 1 x shaker motor,1 x Physical Tilt Bob, 1 x Physical Knocker. All these are separate buttons for on / off
Active Light Show : 5 x RGB LED Flashers above screen,2 x LED strips above speakers, 4 x under-cab RGB LED strips,4 x LED strips locate back of backglass, 2 x Top Siren lighting. All lights are controlled by game
Sound system :  2 x high quality back glass speakers , 1 x 10 inch subwoofer. 1 x 2.1 channel master Amplifier
Plunger : William style digital plunger. allow ANALOG NUDGING and enables skill shots.

I've got Spare PC with i7-7700 with RTX 2060, 32GB DDR4 3200hz, and 512GB Samsung EVO SSD *With Clean Windows 10 installed. (also have RTX 2070 in spare.)  And Do have Spare CPU but they're AMD's. 2x R5 3600's. (Not going order AM4 Motherboard until I've practiced setup with spare PC before testing things out. AND Meanwhile Our Plan in near future would be upgrading the GPU with AMD CPU's to paired with RX 7800 XT?)

It's is possible to Take the SSD drive from the cabinet system and access the file contains with the SATA to USB, Like copy the DOF Config's and paste onto the new fresh system?

While Spare PC will be setup fresh.

EDIT: It's needs a Mini-ITX Motherboard bench to able to fit in cabinet. however the dimension my dad have measured of clearance of the interior of cabinet.

"42cm long *from subwoofer to back of cabinet., 36cm wide, 35cm high"

Hi there

I bought a similar machine (different hardware specs) and plan to take delivery end of month.

While chatting with someone on Reddit who purchased one earlier this year from the same manufacturer, he was able to confirm that you can clone the HDD and copy DOF etc files and settings, and he simply installed a new copy of Windows over the top and started again.

I would have thought Linux LiveCD would allow you to reset the password, assuming they don't have SecureBoot enabled but he wasn't able to verify if it worked or not.

Like in your case, I also plan to upgrade the PC with my current gaming PC, and it was a relief to know that I can at least copy DOF files over, so that it should work as it was out of the box with the added flexibility of being able to add tables and tweak settings.

Before making any experiments with that drive, I would highly recommend to backup the disk using image tools like EaseUS backup free or Acronis or clonezilla.

To do this, the hard drive must be connected to another PC using a SATA-USB adapter in order to create an image using one of these tools.

In case there is then access to the files, the configuration of the various software can be transferred to another system.

There It is possible to mount the registry files of the vpin system to export the registry hives of the various software configurations.

but the whole thing requires some knowledge about windows itself.

I would suggest to take a look at my docu, link in the footer. There I have described in chapter 24 where configuration is saved.
