Hi folks,

I've been working on a toy physics sim to teach myself Position-based Dynamics, and I'm turning it into a little pinball game for funsies. However, I don't know a hell of a lot about pinball, so I have hit a wall on the game design side of things.

I would like to know if there are any very simple-but-playable tables that I could recreate to test my engine, make sure I'm supporting common components correctly, and get to grips with pinball game design.

Could anyone make a recommendation? Perfect candidate would be:

  • Minimal playfield elements
  • Straightforward modes
  • Open-source or community custom table with a rulesheet

Failing something with a permissive license, I could recreate a commercial table with an available rulesheet. I dunno how commerical vendors would feel about that lol, but it's for my own research and will not be published or released. If I release anything it will be a new custom table based on my learnings here.

Thanks for your help!

There is a blank vpx table available with scoring scripted in.

Whoa, these classic tables are sweet! :D Great work loserman76!
Thanks, I think this about the level of complexity I'm aiming for. I couldn't find rulesheets for em, but I think I can extract the script from the vbx files, is that correct?
