I am running VP on Ubuntu through wine-staging 8.10 as there is no native Linux port and came across this error ("Unable to open SEGA.VPS. Ensure that it is in the same folder as this table") when starting TSPP v2.04 The ironic thing is that I have that file already in my Tables folder, as well as the Scripts folder. It gives me a hint that it needs v3.26. Now in the "Essential Visual Pinball files", there is a file that allows you to download VPS Scripts 3.59. When I click on the Download button, it presents me with 9 ZIP files. How do I know which one contains the version I need?
Download the newest one that says vpvbs3_59.zip (These script files are backwards compatible and will work for VP8 tables also.)
It is best to only have scripts in one place. They should all be in your Scripts folder.
If you have copies of scripts in 2 different places, it can cause issues.
If the table insists that the vbs file be in same folder as table, open table script and look for this...
ExecuteGlobal CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").OpenTextFile(VBSfile, 1).ReadAll
and change it to this...
ExecuteGlobal GetTextFile(VBSFile)
Now the table runs without the script file in the same folder as the table.
Here is a list of VP8 and VP9 tables that are dependant on having vbs file in same folder as table.
I have went through every Table available here
And have found the Tables that are dependant of a VBS Scripts File being in same folder for table to work.
Some I have listed are no longer available here, but i figured i would add them in case you have these older downloads. They will be marked with ???.
You will have to edit the script in all these Tables with the method described above.
