Hello awesome community.  Back into this after a 7 year hiatus!  Before building a new full size cab:

Should I build and plan for Pup packs to play on a 15" LCD DMD screen combo, with normal B2S backglass being shown on the 32" TV?

Or do people prefer, or think the way to go is to build with an old-school 4:1 DMD and have Pup packs play on the 32" Backglass where you will enjoy them more due to the larger size?

Thoughts?  Appreciate all the guidance and help  to avoid regrets after a 5K investment.  Cheers!

Go with at least a 15" LCD DMD screen  16:9

I agree with Outhere.  I use a 15" laptop screen for my DMD when I built my cab last year and think its a perfect size relative to my 32" monitor used for backglass.  After initially running pups on the 32" screen I have since configured almost all of them to run on the 15" screen so I can run the original backglass on the 32" screen.

I documented my build here so you can see some photos of the result and see if it aligns with your taste:  https://www.vpforums...768#entry496199

Thanks for all the input, my biggest curiosity was pup videos on 15" DMD vs Backglass and what people like after living with their machines for a bit?  I guess if I build a 15" DMD then I can always change it either way!

Personally, I'm not a fan of pup videos unless they add to (not detract from) the overall experience.  As such, those I do run (Batman 66, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Dr. Seuss' The Grinch) I have on my 15" LCD DMD. This way, the Backglass stays tasked to the scoring. The exception is if there is a nice full dmd in which I can place the Flex DMD scoring within.  I've also designed some custom backdrops for my Backglass, and placed the dmd scoring within a cutout... leaving the LCD DMD for any videos I may want to add later.  My preferences, your mileage may vary.

P.S.  Welcome back!

I only do full DMD for puppacks and keep the original backglass.  As mentioned, on the backglass, they are too distracting.

I also set the volume in the puppackeditor for all screens to 1 so I only hear the original audio (obviously this is for R0M based tables, not ones that rely on a puppack like Batman 66).  I don't really understand using pup audio in addition to R0M audio, unless folks are doing the opposite of what I do: silencing the R0M audio and just using the puppack audio.
