Howdy!

This is my MOD of the great Williams Defender table by Takut, Ivantba (for his Tranformers The Movie 1986 MOD), and 32assassin. Many thanks to all for making such great tables - check them out if this one isn't to your liking. Gameplay and rules are the same.

This is YELLO - Pinball Cha Cha (2021) a tribute table to the electronic music band Yello (Boris Blank and Dieter Meier)
Gameplay is pretty identical to Defender with only a few additional bells and whistles. 

THIS TABLE REQUIRES MUSIC FILES - Feel free to place your own Yello music in the Music folder of VP
Making sure to name the files: "Yello_01, Yello_02, etc" The script allows for up to 40 tracks of music played randomly.
 
BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD MY MEDIA PACK - LINK UNDER TABLE INFO
as I give my suggested track listing and some other useful assets

NO MUSIC IS PACKAGED WITH THE VPX FILE (Per rules of the forum)
All art and 3d toys are made by me and should not be used for any other purpose outside of the general workings of Visual Pinball unless given permission.
All art and design is made as fan art and given freely to support the open source community. No part of this table or the VPX file should be sold for profit.
Many thanks to all the source table builders for their great work and table designs!

As per usual with my table designs the Table is made with a Score board space on the table's apron.
There are 2 Apron art files stored in the tables Image Manager. The default apron is set to be with NO SCORE section on the apron.
Feel free to swap out the Apron art if you prefer to have the score placed on the apron.

The Table requires the use of the Defender ROM to function. If you already have the Defender table working you probably won't need the ROM file.

The left and right magna save buttons are required to fully play this table.

I dedicate this MOD to all Yello music lovers everywhere!

Thanks for this nice - really nice - table release

 

little issue: inner right outline (3k) activates sw54. but the "sw54_UnHit" line is missing so it activates on of the right DOF Flasher lamps permanently.

This is fantastic, always thought Yello was just a couple goofy guys but it turns out they were so much more! Really enjoying chilling to this with a beer, the art is fantastic and gameplay just different enough to successfully dissociate from Defender. Great job re-introducing Yello to a whole new crowd, you did them great service. The music reminds me a bit of Fluke, another little known EM band that most people heard of (The Matrix, NFS) but never knew who they were (..in case you were looking for another cool music theme  )

 

P.S. Hey Mark, you should mention in the description to turn on screen space reflections, this table really benefits from the additional effect

As I said before, I have some ideas about this one - first of all a dB2S must be and I'd like to make one. Although I know, PUP packs will come sooner or later.

I'd like to help, suggest and DO. I'll pm you.

 

What I really like on this one, it is not just a 'reskin' when people just replace graphics and add a bit of music. It is a concept, because I see you have relocated elements, dimmed the bumper lights and surely other things, I don't see now to match your vision - how this table should look and feel. I never ever got the tought "ok, this is Williams' Defender and now it looks like a Yello themed table", more got the thoughts "yes, this is a Yello themed table".

 

I really appreceate, you made something new out of something known, so kudos to your work, thoughts and attitude.

I'm very aware of Fluke. Saw them live once in Chicago and even talked to them for a bit after they played. (also saw Kraftwerk live in Chicago but that's a whole other story).
Fluke were amazing and a big part of the early Wipeout games. They have some remixes of Yello's How How too. Another fav from this time period was Jam & Spoon. Who I've featured with their remix of Yello's "You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess" Check out J&S if you haven't before.

I spoke with Author about the version tuned for SSF I sent him, but for two reasons he prefer donlt to deal with it;

1) He is not an SSF user

2) Table was saved in 10.7 latest revision

I can't do it to work. Backglass and DMD starts fine. Music plays ok but after a few seconds audio starts to stuttering and the playfiled never appears. Windows comes unresponsive and then VPX give me some stranges errors about video memory that I never receive before with any other table.

I'm on Win10 x64, 8Gb RAM, AMD RX550 2 Gb, VPX 10,7,0 Rev. 169 and VPinMame 3.3b, could you help me please?

1) sure you´re graphics card has 2 GB only? upgrade your GPU card; my printer owns more video ram =)

are you opening\trying different tables  in ones. 

try restarting the pc and launch this table.
