Hi all,

Don't know if there's already a topic like this, but I couldn't find it so...

Like the title says: I would love to see what kind of artwork you cab builders use or made for your VPins!  :yahoo:

Whether they are decals or a nice paint job, let's show them! Be sure to give credits if you use somebody else's work.

As I have spent a good seven months on creating the ultimate decals for my own machine I would like to start! I'm very happy with the results!

What I wanted to create was a kind of collage of pinball characters, but without making it look "flat" and crowded. Something like a pub setting. Then I came across the Big Bang Bar machine and found out that somebody else had had the same idea! I really liked the image, so I decided to redraw it as a vector in Illustrator. I changed some of the details (the face of the bride of Pinbot, Spiderman's logo...) and redrew Terminator to be more true to it's original movie design. Credits for the original parody drawing go to TheShading on newgrounds.com.

My husband didn't like Bart Simpson, so I tried to find a different character suitable for sitting at the table. I chose Slimer from Ghostbusters eating a huuuge sandwich. Credits for the original drawing go to Sasquatchinheat on Reddit.

Since I only had a picture of the side decals, I had to come up with something new for the front and the backglass sides. For the front I wanted to use a Martian from Attack from Mars, eating pizza and drinking beer. I used the style from Brian Allan's alternative translite. And for the backglass sides I transformed the tube dancer into the mermaid from Fish tales!  :dblthumb:

When building my custom cabinet, I decided to paint it myself.

Pictures of the painting process here: https://boltbait.com...l/assemble2.php

All done with spray cans by following a couple of youtube videos.

How I built my B2S Pinball Cabinet, step-by-step, with pictures!  Full-sized cabinet for ~$700. Believe me, if I can do it, so can you!

Wow! That looks very cool! I really like the creation process. So creative!  :otvclap:

There are certainly some advantages with painting... I'm having a hard time preparing my cabinet for the vinyl decals. Did some tests with fillers and primers and gosh... you see EVERYTHING. Every speck of dust, cat hair or the screw holes I sealed with filler and thought I had sanded smooth enough. Guess I'll have to be very patient with this particular job...  :D

Self filling or high build primer
Then sand it all again when that is dry
Reprime as needed, till you got a nice flat surface you are happy with, then paint

As for dust and cat hair, i can only recommend to try and isolate the painting area, you can hang plastic sheeting
make a mini paint booth

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

There were two versions of this artwork created this is what the other side looks like: https://c7.staticfli...865dc6804_b.jpg

If you're looking to credit the original artist it is shadbase... do not google that name if you are easily offended, very very NSFW.

Thank you for this new piece of information! Unfortunately Shadbase deleted all of his stuff, so that is why I only found the profile on Newgrounds.

Also found out that this "other side" is actually a redesign from a different person: https://www.vpforums...ic=19873&page=2
