UPDATE  (v1.3.1) - VR ROOM version of G5K, DJROBX, and TOM TOWERS' Attack from Mars!
Thanks to G5K, DJROBX, and Tom Tower for this awesome VPX version of Attack From Mars.  I have not touched the physics, graphics, or gameplay from the original authors VPX version.   I did have to change the sidewalls sizing, images, and materials to get them to display properly in VR.  The script has a lot of changes for VR, mostly all at the end of the script.
Thanks goes to..
VPX table: G5K, DJROBX, TOM TOWER
Some VR models and help from: 3RDAXIS
Space Ship animations: STEELY  (Special Thanks.  You're crazy Steely)
Thanks always to Randy Davis, The VP development team, and Caligula for bringing us VPVR
Options:
Use Left and Right Magnasave to toggle VR Room components on or off.
Press “G” To toggle playfield glass on and off (it is set to on by default).
You can change playfield glass on/off by default near the top of the script.
Enjoy!

- All new backglass with working GI and flashers (Thanks very much to LEOJREIMROC! ).
- 3rd Axis coin door added (Thanks 3rdAxis!) with working rom buttons and manual.  (use the 'End' key to check it out).
- Sixtoe minimal room added (magnasave toggle) Thanks Sixtoe!
- Backbox inner walls lighting reflections added.
- Undercab lighting is now an option at the top of the script
- Car Alarm!

G5K asked me what it would be like to add glass to the machine.   I had tried it before on my Triple Strike table, and it didn't look very good.   I was using a different environmental/reflection image in that room though, so I thought I would give it a shot again.   I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.   It is not even noticeable or distracting at all when you're standing in playing position...  but it is a nice thing to see when you're looking at the table from different angles.  I also made a subtle DMD reflection.  I think it works out pretty well too.   I was going to add the backglass reflection on the playfield glass, but in my testing, I found it was too distracting.  I'm still playing around with it... but please tell me what you think.   Add it to the next update?  Make it an option at the top of the script?  Tie it into a keyboard key to toggle it while playing?  Just leave it always on?

Looks awesome. Just add it, no need for an option unless it impacts performance.

"unless it impacts performance" is a good way of looking at it though, because if it does, you KNOW people are gonna ask for the option to disable.

Me, I think whatever the author wants to do is A-OK in my book.  I'll tell you, the effect seen in the video looks incredible, way better than I expected so looking forward to seeing it in VR!  In saying that, I expect only the best so on my real Hulk Avengers LE, I had spared no expense and bought the invisiglass that neutered reflections, especially the DMD, you could see it but was more subtle (always nice to see "Hulk Smash" properly, in all that toys glory instead of being hidden by the DMD reflection).

So sir, my self centered "me-first" attitude expects you to use the same glass for your VR table. Hopefully no licensing fees will be required for you to pay... ;)

That looks pretty darn awesome Rawd.  Obviously I have not tried yet so I could feel differently later but from the video this looks great and I'd say just add it.  Maybe if it isn't too much trouble create an option in the script to disable it but make it default to on if you do that!

Great work!

I added some glass scratches.  I did it in 2 layers to simulate scratches on both sides of the glass.  I like it, but I'm still not 100% sure about it.   I will make the glass an option you can toggle.

Personal opinion:  If I had a nice AFM like build in the video, I would not allow a scratch playfield glass to grace its presence. ;)

I have updated the room to v1.2.4!

V 1.2.4

Fixed walls sticking out at back of cabinet.

Added Backbox warning decal.

Made plunger button bigger (correct size now).

New Speaker Grill.

Sound cue on VR room elements toggle.

Added playfield glass with DMD reflection.

Added coin sitting on the glass (It moves with analog nudge).

Press “G” To toggle playfield glass on and off (it is set to on by default).

You can change playfield glass on/off by default on line 225 of the script.

Have fun!

Hi Rawd,

awesome table, great job. It is so cool. :otvclap:

Very cool looking new features in 1.2.4.

I'm using freezy ext DMD with the rom colorization and I have noticed that the DMD reflection in the playfield glass is a 1:1 copy of the actual DMD.

So, the black background from the DMD in the backbox is completely visible as a block in the playfield glass.

If I use the regular green DMD, it looks very nice and works as intended, but the colorization is too cool to leave it in standard green.

Is there a way in the freezy settings to avoid this or can the reflection be disabled somewhere in the table script?

Hmm..   That is not something that I thought of, as I have never actually used FreezyDMD.   The reflection is tied to the script that turns the glass on and off, and may screw up the code if you just delete the reflection.  Let me look into it more and get back to you.   I wonder if there is a way to make FreezyDMD more transparent... EDIT: (But that would not work either, as your regular DMD would also then be transparent)

EDIT2:  If FreezyDMD doesn't have a transparency option, and you would like to keep it for this table..  I guess my only suggestion would be to grab the DMD reflection from the table, and move it up in the editor, behind the building or something.  For now, that's an easy fix that that will keep the glass, but remove the reflection without any coding issues.

Yes, download the none-VR version. You can play this without VR but you won't experience any of the VR elements like the environment without it so there's no point. The table itself is exactly the same. And without VR that is all you will see.

Yes, I cannot find the regular version of this table. Thanks for the info though.
