Hi Guys.

For the past few days over the 4th of July holiday, I've been working on a new table ... Alien (1979) - which is a heavy mod of JPSalas' really fun table - Supersonic (Bally 1979).

I intend to make the table very spooky and scary (like the original ALIEN movie, not the sequels)  and exciting to play as well.

Been working on all the graphic first, and this morning I plugged them all into the table to see how they would look.

As you can see, there is still a lot of work to do: shifting / adding / editing images and art + adjusting color balance + all the sound + all the lighting + some 'wow-factor' extras ... but it is coming along pretty well thus far.

Here are some samples:

Table:

Backglass:

This is still a work in progress (WIP) - so pretty much "anything" is subject to change, move, or be fixed.

Looks very good on this board! All Alien-themed boards are Welcome! Thanks for sharing. The facehugger on the slingshot is especially creepy:)

Really cool to see a new table based on the 1st Alien movie !

Your first pics show it will be visually great.

For now, just the bumpers caps are not scary at all !  :P

You're talented to do a fantastic job, I can't wait to play this one !

Isn't the topic a bit misleading ? I would have picked Alien 2019 Original :)

Please move some elements around a bit so it plays a bit different from Supersonic. You don't need to do a full rebuild like Batch did for Accept. Only small changes is needed in order to peek my interest. I think it's a shame that you guys put down so much work for a table that plays exactly the same as the original.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Made a lot of progress this week.

Working on finishing up the graphics / color balancing, backglasses and video and sound fx.

Here is a scaled down sample of part of the HD "TOPPER".

So here is an update:

I started this table almost a year ago as a re-skin of JP Salas's - Supersonic table, used with permission.

As things go - life got in the way - and I didn't get a chance to finish it.

With recent worldly events - I have had some time to revisit this table and now with Rascal's involvement - we have not only resumed work on this table - we have made A LOT of updates, additions, changes, and serious improvements - including adding / moving / changing many of the playfield elements that really change the gameplay so it won't feel at all like the original Supersonic table gameplay.

We have also added extremely highly detailed interactive / animating 3d model toys, a full backdrop DMD with video clips, images, and animations, along with full soundtrack and sound fx. We opted to add the DMD so it would work for everyone and not need an external plug-in or system to be installed for everyone to enjoy the table. This was a huge amount of work - but is well worth it.

The goal was to create a table that PLAYS like an actual 1979 table (year the movie was released), but had all the bells and whistles and add ons, toys and stuff to give it a modern "look". I think we achieved that goal 100%.

The theme of the table matches the creepy, eerie, and spooky / scary feel of the original 1979 Alien movie - not the ALIENS sequel (which was bad a$$ as well).

We still have a lot of work to do on this to get it perfect and to a releasable format - but we wanted to share the progress thus far to give you something POSITIVE and pleasant to look forward to soon.

NOTE: Some images - including the desktop backdrop are still being worked on.

Looks really very nice with toys

Just my opinion, the bar at the top of the table doesn't match very well with the look of the table

That bar is being replaced - like I said, we are still working on the actual functionality of the table - then we will fine tune the remaining graphics.

You just happened to pick the 1 thing we haven't modified or switched out yet - hence why it stands out as not matching.

Any news on this table? As a huge fan of The Fog and Tron Classic tables, I would really love to play it and give some feedback. Looks like it was pretty far along
