Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Hi,

this is U-Boat 65 by Bell Games, FS version. Again Akiles provided the initial images of the playfield and plastics. Then Stefan from flippermarkt.de provided great gameplay videos that showed some valid gameplay parts. (by the way, it was his actual machine our images have been taken from). Destruk has listed the correct light numbers for the table, giving me a good start.
Gaston looked into the game and sound code and provided a new version of the ROM file that added some more gameplay sounds (vpinmame 2.8 and above). You can find it here:

http://www.vpforums....attach_id=26518

The ROM is working a bit unstable, so that I had to add a watchdog routine for now. If the table starts correctly, it is working fine. Please have an eye on the right mine inserts next to the target bank. After You start a game, only the upper insert should be flashing. If You have some strange behaviour, just restart the game.
I added a 4 seconds grace timer after table start, so be a bit patient if You want to start a game right away.

U-boat has a 3-ball multiball and You can lower the top target bank to access the torpedo target. The flipper buttons cycle the A-B-C lights to increase the bumper value.
A DIP switch menu has been added, too (F6).
If You want to change some additional table settings (as language, tests or special awards), I assigned the left Magnasave key to the options key. Use the StartGameKey to change the values.

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings.

Michael

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Hi Batch,

I am trying to find some time for the VPin tables. Workload is quite hard at the moment, though.

I love these tables by smaller companies so thanks for that. Can somebody please explain what is meant by minimum handicap score as seen in the rom menu?

Don't know, might be rom related. After playing mb, loosing two of the tree balls. I locked the one I had left and then nothing happened.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Looking at the manual I believe that translates to the first replay level.  However, the manual I am looking at is in Italian (and I am not that well versed in Italian).

The manual does say something about autopercentaging, so I am guessing it has something to do with replay level but again I am not sure of that.

If you can understand Italian you can look at the manual here:  http://mirror2.ipdb....t_65_Manual.pdf

Sadly the ball was captured and don't come out. The table must be closed.

I find nothing to talk about the handicap.
Maybe you wanted to ask this question in the Centaur (Inder) thread?

Thanks Michael, nice table!

Hi Joey,

the search routine should kick in normally. Maybe I can add a watchdog function to look for captured balls as I did for the left ramp.

Regards

Michael

I wait for the routine, but after minutes there is no change. How long will it takes?

Newer, here: http://www.vpforums....&showfile=12944

But it is without Score LED, because directb2s doesnt Support 16 Segment LED,
you have to move VPM Display to your DMD/Backglass Screen, thats all.

Sound ? No, just use the ROM File from the Link above, or here: http://www.vpforums....attach_id=26518

... one of my favourite games, thank you Michael for this recreation!

However unfortunately the ROM problem is still unsolved, ... with my limited skills I made a patch:

Attached File  New Script UBoat 65.zip   25.11KB   3 downloads

When the ball becomes captured or the kicker holes are not willing to work, press "L" (launch button of the very early EMs). You can now play until regular game over. One disadvantage can only solved by fixing the ROm issue, multiball is only possible one time, after that the "L" key brings the ball back into play. So after each game, exit the table and load it new.

Edit: restart by pushing the credit button is sufficient.

greetings, Christian.
