File Name: Tales of the Arabian Nights (Williams 1996) dB2S DT ColorDMD VP9.9 JPSalas vBeta4b

File Submitter: xenonph

File Submitted: 25 May 2017

File Category: VP/VPinMAME 9.x - MOD Tables

Author(s): JPSalas
Dozer316
dB2SDT Mod Xenonph
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1996
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

This is a DT table with working dB2S backglass on same screen.
I first would like to thank JPSalas for allowing mods without permission, and Dozer316 for permission to use his works of art!!

THE METHOD I AM USING TO CONVERT THESE DESKTOP VERSION TABLES TO BE ABLE TO USE AND HAVE ON SAME SCREEN A WORKING TABLE AND WORKING DB2S BACKGLASS IS A METHOD I LEARNED FROM KAAN, SO I WANT TO THANK HIM VERY MUCH.

YOU WILL NEED THE dB2S BACKGLASS PROGRAM INSTALLED FOR THIS TABLE TO WORK PROPERLY.
I HAVE INCLUDED B2S Backglass Server 1.3.0.2 WITH DOWNLOAD.

YOU WILL NEED TO KEEP THESE 4 ITEMS IN SAME FOLDER FOR THESE TABLES TO WORK PROPERLY.

SCREENRES.TXT
B2S.EXE
PINBALL TABLE.VPT
BACKGLASS.DB2S

SIMPLY START TABLE AS YOU WOULD ANY OTHER TABLE. THE DB2S BACKGLASS WILL AUTOMATICALLY STAY ON SCREEN.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE A DIFFERENT BACKGLASS, SIMPLY NAME NEW BACKGLASS SAME AS TABLE NAME AND PUT IN SAME FOLDER AS TABLE.
IF YOU USE 3 SCREEN BACKGLASSES THAT HAVE DMD, YOU CAN RIGHT CLICK ON A RUNNING BACKGLASS AND CHANGE IT TO HIDE GRILL, AS THESE 3 SCREEN VERSIONS WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH THIS METHOD. ALSO ANY DB2S FILES THAT ARE REALLY LARGE WONT WORK WITH THIS METHOD AS IT TAKES TOO LONG FOR THE BACKGLASS TO LOAD.

IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH FLIPPERS STICKING, TRY RESTARTING TABLE AS THIS IS USUALLY DUE TO FIRST TIME PLAYING TABLE ON SYSTEM.

NOW YOU CAN EXPERIENCE THE FULL BACKGLASS IN ACTION, AS SEEN BY CABINET USERS, ON A DESKTOP VERSION TABLE!!!

HOPE YOU ENJOY, AND REMEMBER TO THANK THE ORIGINAL AUTHORS OF THESE TABLES AND BACKGLASSES!!

Maybe try right clicking on b2s.exe and go to properties, and click compatibility tab, and click run as administrator, also try running in compatibilty mode for XP.

(I never had to change compatibilty mode or run as adminstrator.)

I am using a Windows Vista 64bit computer and it works on mine.

Let me know if this helps you. If not I will try to figure out why it is not working for you.

The folder with table and backglass and b2s.exe and screenres.txt all need to stay in the same folder when running these tables. You can run these tables from any folder, (I have mine in folder in Documents.), as long as you keep those 4 items in folder, and you have installed the B2S Server. (The B2S Server program is what is needed to be in your tables folder.)

The reason you cant put all these mods into same folder is each one has a different screenres.txt made just for that table. So they each need to stay in there own folder.

Glad you got it working my friend. This should help others if they have same problem.

Have a great week!!

You are welcome!!

I stay awake 2 days, sleep, and repeat!! Maybe take short nap in between.

I really love working on these tables!! And I like contributing to this community.

I am in the process of uploading 30 or so more right now. those are just the ones that have been approved by authors.

I have many more that are waiting for permission from the Authors.

Stay Tuned!!

As a matter of fact yes!!

Here is a pic of Fast Draw DT with animated dB2S Backglass.

capture161_t.png

I will try to get all the tables done that have lit backglasses.

Its the waiting on permission that is hardest with some authors not having signed in for years. I am actually not modifying the tables or backglasses and really am just trying to showcase the DT tables with running dB2S backglass.

Some of these backglasses have a fantasy and authentic built into one. Simply right click on backglass and select fantasy mode if it is available then save.

I love these backglasses in action while playing DT table!!!

Keep on Pinballin'
