File Name: Moon Light (Inder 1987) VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 03 Jun 2016

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1987
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is Moon Light by Inder.

Again Akiles provided the photos of this rare pin. The owner even took a spare playfield to a photo shop to make high quality images.
Zany made the really nice Inder Flipper models, I used. And the distorted blue rims below the ramp Extra Ball lights are his flasher domes.

A DIP switch menu allows the adjustment of number of balls and some other table features.

I have created a B2S Backglass containing the space ship animation.
If You do not want to use an active Backglass, I added some features to the Apron. You can switch the space ship animation and the Extra Ball lights on and off at the top of the script.

The table rules as well as a backglass image and a wheel are included in the download file.

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Michael

Hi,

the B2S will be much work because of the space ship animation. I will do it but the desktop version comes first.

Here is a quick Backglass File, just with the LED Scores ... i hope thats ok, Michael :)
As you said, there is much work with the Ship ... and others ... so this is just a "Placeholder File (and Scores only)" ...

And ... thanks for the awesome Table !

I notice some behavior on this table that I think might be due to something that I screwed up when futzing with settings to get other tables to work.  What I notice is that the ball seems to slow down a lot as it rolls down the table towards the flippers.  It rolls fast at the top, but by the time it reaches the flippers, it is rolling more slowly.  I am wondering if I screwed up my physics settings.  Has anyone else noticed this?  It is subtle, so it would be hard to see in a video, but I can definitely feel it.

Hi Arngrim,

thank You for the corrections. There is always something new to add....

I will look into the friction settings for the ball behaviour too.

Hi,

here is the desktop version. Batch created the backdrop image and I added the small backglass with the space ship animations as primitives.

The backglass image is somewhat modified to fit the standard pinmame display. I am a bit lazy after all.

Michael,

Thank you, it's a very addictive table. Getting the 4 and 8 targets to light the extra ball, are very difficult to hit. I try to flip to the bottom of the pop bumpers to rebound to the slingshots to hit them.

Getting them is very challenging.

Rich

Hi Michael,

thank you, as well for the backglass  . Animation runs properly  !!! Two tiny remarks: I have no sound :wimper:  for the bumpers as well as for the flippers. All other sounds are perfectly balanced. ....your game is the 201st on my cab. Greetings, Christian.

Hi Christian,

the sounds are in. Can You check Your controller.txt for the value UseDOFcontactors? It must be 0 if You have no DOF hardware installed. This is also silencing the Slingshots, though.

If this is checked, please try to play the sounds "Bumper" and "FlipperUp_Akiles" from within the sound manager (Top Menu: Table - Sound Manager).

Very attractive table that I've never seen before.  It plays great, too!  Thanks a lot for this one.

Hi Michael,

learning never ends  :pinnochio: , I switched it to 0 and now the sounds are completely. For other users: you find the controller.txt under the directory: Visual Pinball/Users

... much more fun with correct sound.

Cheers, Christian.

This really is a beautiful and fun to play table! Best thing about VP is being able to try these pins that we would NEVER get to see in real life!
