Scared Stiff is one of the top tables I want to play in VP... since there is no VPX version yet, I tried some VP9 tables.  The problem that I'm running into is that, although I've got my VPX tables smoothed out, and most of my VP9 tables, Scared Stiff is one of those that gets a lot of stutter in the ball movement, and just isn't very good to play.

So, I'm looking for help on settings or tricks I might be able to use to smooth this one out.  If you have your table playing smooth and have a tip specific to this table, I really appreciate the help.

So far I have tried jpsalas, Dozer and Destruk's tables... all look great, but I get a good bit of stutter in each one.  is there a specific version that works better?  Are there settings that might be keeping this table from playing worse than most of my other VP9 tables?  Any changes in scripting that I should make?

Obviously, it's a great table so just want to get it running... thanks for the help.   :)

There was a VP10 version, you might find it through the old beta tables thread. It's unfinished, you'll have to remove some debug stuff and reset the physics, but it's a solid 90% done if I recall. If you're going to rip apart a table anyways, might check that out.

Thanks, I had no idea... I will check it out.  I am clueless about any debugging and physics so any tips are appreciated.

Wow... I can't believe that table is laying buried in a beta thread.  I guess it was abandoned... no updates since Nov. that I can see, and I just gave it a quick play, but it plays 100% super smooth and looks great.  Only thing I can see is some of the lamps are a little intense and fuzzy, but man... I hope this one can be finished and put in the downloads section for all to enjoy.

I'm sure it does need the tweaking you mention, above, but it can't be much.

Ah... looks like the spider wheel on the backglass isn't spinning... so that would need fixed.

Look for another backglass - there is one out there that does spin. (atleast I am pretty sure it does :-) )

Well, the one I was using spins on VP9, but I'm having trouble with those tables.  It doesn't spin with the VPX table.  I'll try the table Outthere posted.

shoopity i believe coded this table as a desktop (early VPX)... this need the ramp masters to fix it up... I think i have hi-res stuff i did for the FP version a while back...

but like I said more than anything looks wise it needs dudes that can really do ramps correctly and the snake vertebrae needs 3D models

and the B2S code to be added... and i'm sure bassgeige would make a great animated BG

Thanks for posting these... unfortunately, they run exactly like the other versions I have from the download section.

Hopefully, someone takes interest in finishing it... it seems like it is in really good shape already.

So, the VPX version isn't finished, I'm back at OP I guess... any tips for streamlining the VP9 version are appreciated.

I wonder why I can't get that spider working in Shoopity's version.

992... I have experimented with a bunch of different settings but this is what I'm using right now.  I had a lot of success in VPX with turning everything off and letting nvidia control panel handle it all... but that doesn't seem to work on every table in VP9.  Most of the VP9 tables, again, run great... just a handful I still have trouble with... Scared Stiff, Whitewater... couple others.

Did you try Vsync at 1?

Try change FPS limiter to "1"  (vsync)

Yeah, I tried it and 1 and 0 and set to my monitor's refresh rate... currently I have it set to vsync through the nvdia control panel.

Thanks... I'll replicate those and see how it goes.  So, are you going without AA or using FXAA through the control panel?

ok... i looked a bit deeper into shoops last beta 10....

i went thru and added a few extra materials, and lighting, adjusted most everthing

the boogiemen now look a bit more rubbery and also the frogs...

added a primitive inner wall... and some top rails

this was an early beta 10 build so i believe the lights for flashers were just a test to get lights to look like flashers...

which now seems to me everyone has reverted back to using flashers images....

I dont code so I have no clue how to code them into the tables.... I'll posting my modded version here so someone with the skills to do can

just keep me in the loops because i would love to see this come to fruition

it is also one of my favorite tables

its also has the B2S with working spider (tested on my rig)
