Prompted by a post from drothste12, a whole gang of VPers jumped in to get this table done.  STAT started it off with the initial build and coding of the gameplay and rules and figured out how to do a rotating ball shooter turret with great advice from the forum.  PinballShawn owns the real table and very helpfully provided measurements, gameplay rules, and videos of how it all works, table probably would not be done without all his info. I jumped in when STAT got to busy to finish it up and I resized the table and all it's parts and objects to correct size, and finished up the coding with added features.  Hauntfreaks took all my and STATs initial images and made them all much nicer (he has a way with things like that).

Basic idea of the gameplay is hit the balls to clear the rack.  A great part of the fun is you can't actually see the ball most of the time it's in play. The right flipper or the plunger button shoots the ball (real table has no plunger so just right flipper) as the turret rotates. Clearing the rack adds the listed bonus and give you another ball (well really the same one, but continues to play).  PinballShawn says the game is much better with 2 players as you can steal racks the other player doesn't complete.

There are a couple of gameplay options available by holding down the left flipper before starting a game (thanks to loserman76 and gnance for the idea).

directb2s file is included in the download.

Great job on this... looks great.  The rotating ball shooter seems very realistic.  Very unique... gonna take some practice.    :)

This is a great table. When this table was in WIP first i thought to myself "eh looks ok might give it a shot" but the more and more I played it , it kept drawing me closer and closer. (just like any table, really). It got very addicting trying to clear the rack. And get a better score each time. It is a unique table to have at my disposal. Nice work on this one.

And whats with all the billiards themed tables from this era? Seems like every other table from the 70's is billiards themed. Not complaining, just curious.

I am no expert, but it seems like the pinball themes follow other popular trends of the times.  The 70's were before the arcade explosion, so pool was more popular... you see a bunch of pool and card game themed tables.  Then in the 80's you see more arcade and fantasy themed tables... then more recently it seems like a lot of blockbuster movie themes.  I guess they just went with whatever they thought people were into and would spend money on.

for the force feedback, when we touch a ball, what do you want, a contactor? a knocker? an option to have one or the other?

after watching videos it sounds to me like a contactor bumper hit.... PinballShawn will be the guy that knows....

Hitting the balls trigger the knocker. So it is loud, like a real pool ball getting cracked. When you hit a bunch it's a unique sound, like pow pow pow!

The one in Haunt's video sounds weird, like the knocker is loose or damaged. Mine knocks very loud on each hit.

Check the first video I posted on page 1 of this thread. I rebuilt this entire machine so I'm sure mine knocks louder than most.

Got a super weird issue with this table. I run this table with visual pinball 10.3 and the game runs, but it is incredibly jerky and stutterers all the time. I play other visual pinball x tables. And while I might get an occasional stutter here and there, most of the games play super smooth and without issue.

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tips for settings for this table or just VP in general.

If you are a DT user, go to line 24 of the scripts and disable the backglass.

B2SOn = 0

Eventually, try turning off the reflection of the playfield elements.

Yeah... I actually upgraded my ram from 8 to 16 to see if it would run smoother. And no real change when I did. I thought about turning off the ball reflection, but then that would turn it off for all my other games, and I don't really want to toggle that setting. Anyway, I can turn that off via the script so its just disabled for the game?
