I guess 8GB of RAM isn't enough for the 1.2 version.  It is, by far, the biggest backglass file I've ever seen.  Anybody have any luck getting it to load?

My GPU RAM is only 1,25GB for the backglass gpu. I do have to say that I use since the Cirqus Voltaire dB2S a modified B2SBackglassServerEXE. I applied the following patch:

You are right, that it is also based to my own knowledge the biggest backglass available.

I am not able to foresee how it will behave on other hardware, but my PC is nowhere near the latest hardware standard. Therefore I am sure that nearly everyone is able to use it.

My PC does have a 64bit operating system, >4Ghz per core four core CPU, 16 GB RAM, two GTX 570 in none sli (one for playfield, the other for the backglass) and the above mentioned patched  B2SBackglassServerEXE.

I am sorry, if the 1.2 dB2S version does not work for you. We will need to compare other results to be able to give the information to other users beforehand, who like to use this backglass version 1.2.

No need to be sorry, I really enjoy your backglasses and the way you push the limits of the backglass server.

I have many of your BG's on my cab :D

Thanks again for all the work you do and share

Yes. I love what you've been doing !  Interesting that I can get this back glass to work but can't get the VPX version of DH to run

Patching the exe works for me, I'm able to get this monster to load. It's definitely overkill, but it's good to be ahead of the curve, I guess. At some point, it will be cheap to have UHD monitors and there will be a demand for higher resolution images.

Thank you for the positive feedback, the description is now changed accordingly:

ClarkKent and I talked already about the dB2S more times. Today we had the assumption that there is something not valid with DH. I was based to my research 100% sure that it should be valid. Now it turned out, that based to my actual research the real machine was different setup. I will after a last test submit a new version which in case the test is succesfully passed, will behave like the original backglass. The next part will be to see if STTNG was setup also different than official described.

Too big for me. Does not load and I am using the patched dB2S server. I was able to load 1.2. Of course, a change I've made in my setup is employing 4K DSR on both the playfield and backglass. It's probably just too much for my system.

I checked back 1.3 vs 1.2 ultra HQ resolution before the upload. I did not see a loading problem. (File size 1.3 vs 1.2 difference is below 0,07MB)

The native resolution for the Ultra HQ resolution dB2S used is already above 8K UHD!

I only have 4GB of RAM so did not even try this, based on the comments.

Is there a normal or low res version? I could not find one.

I have no idea how these files work, but is it possible for a user (like me) to take whatever image(s) are Ultra HQ resolution and convert to a lower res?

hello, the backglass always loads over my DMD. This is the only one of my 187 tables where this happens. Is there a setting to fix this?

I did uncheck Bring BG Form to Top. I also tried running vpx in Windows 7 compatibility mode (someone else suggested this) and still no joy. I'm up to 200 tables now, and the Dirty Harry backglass is the only one that covers my DMD. The only way to fix it is to alt-tab and bring the dmd into focus. Very, very strange, nothing I do seems to be able to keep your backglass from covering my dmd. Any other ideas?

Great tip, I did not know that feature, thanks ! Here is an idea, and realize most people don't do it this way but as an example on a 1024X768 backglass monitor, I designate the first 1024 x 568 as the backglass portion and turn the grill to OFF. Then I set the DMD to have a X,Y position of (0,768) the scale the dmd window to the remainder of available space on the backglass monitor, so I have a 1024 x 200 dimension DMD, uniform across all my tables & FX3. The way I see it, the Grill option is just a cosmetic embellishment that makes it look like it has real speakers.  This method works to turn it off on almost everything except for Gilligan's Island, not quite right yet. Just a different way to do it. For me that eliminates issues with foreground and background backglass vs dmd.

I have the same problem. You can get the DMD visible by uncommenting a line in the VB script. BUT! It will place it on the playfield (due to coords 0,0)... At least it solves the alt-tab-ing but you till have to mouse it around.

I too had issues with the DMD not visible and back-glass overlapping. what worked for me was to go into that b2s back-glass server and in the window (B2S DMD): Visible/Hidden.. turn this to Hidden.. and it comes up..

I hope this helps someone.
