File Name: Solar Fire (Williams 1981) FS VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 02 Feb 2015

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1981
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is Solar Fire by Williams, Full Screen edition.

Kruge99 sent me his playfield and apron images and contributed much regarding gameplay adjustment, comparing this simulation to his real machine.
Additional Thanks go to Fuzzel for providing the lightmap images for the inserts and the Williams flipper primitives and to JPSalas for the fading flasher code.

The table comes with the new configuration file code by gtxjoe that creates/reads cController.txt from the User directory. Just change the variable cController to 0 and the table is looking for the configuration file.

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Michael

Awesome job Michael!

I love these old Williams Magna-save tables. They bring back lots of fun memories from my college days in the early 80's. I wonder if Jungle Lord or Pharoah will ever be re-made as nice as this one for the complete set?

Thanks for all your hard work. I love playing your tables!

This table is awesome.   Is there any way to add the BMPR_MOD to make the  ball  physics more realistic??

Hi facelift,

I have no intentions to implement any physics mod now. After VP10 is stable for table creation, I will convert my tables to VP10. Until then I will rather add one or two more games to my list.

Regards

Michael

Awesome and rare table, I just saw some great videos on yt about it (Todd made a great LED MOD) and now I am here :-)

Great table choice, I like the theme and layout, and of course the 3 x magna save thing.

Thanks for your work, and for considering the mentioned VPX update.
