File Name: Twilight Zone Night Mod

File Submitter: LoadedWeapon

File Submitted: 25 Jan 2015

File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Melon

Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1993
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Well this is a mod of Melons Twilight Zone table so huge thanks to him for letting me mod this table I never really played it enough to see how amazing it was..

I tried to put in a few mods but some I couldn't get to do just right but there are a few images on walls so if you rotate this table you will have to try and size and move them or just uncheck visible so they can't be seen.

***Also thx to Kruge99 I put in Color balls but if you don't like them comment out lines 50-59 in the script and uncomment lines 62-65 it's easy to see in the script..***

I made 2 versions one Dusk for people that like the lighter tables and one Dark for people like me that cant have them dark enough lol.... :)

This table must be played on VP990

STAT: TV mod
LoadedWeapon: Reworked all the images and objects put in a few mods added all new lights and GI and updated the script etc..

Thanks!!  This is such an amazing update for TZ!!

Here's a few tweaks for the desktop users to convert to desktop mode:

On the backdrop, select the image 'fondo' to get the back glass back.

Here are my settings to rotate the table to desktop mode:

Inclination: 64

FOV: 34

layback: -18

xyrotation: 360

xscale: 0.85

yscale: 1.08

zscale: 1

xoffset: 0

yoffset: 140

zoffset: 0

If you're finding it difficult to hit the skillshots (red, orange, and yellow), using either an analog plunger or your keyboard, you can modify the plunger settings.

Locate the plunger object in the bottom right corner of the table in the editor and click on it.  You'll know you've got the correct object because rectangle drawn with a blue line will appear in the editor and on the right side it will say "Plunger".  Once you have the plunger selected, change the settings with the following values and save the table:

Pull Speed: 0.35

Release Speed: 42

Stroke Length: 140

Mech Strength: 40

BreakOver velocity: 5

Park Position: 0.1666667

I've played several real Twilight Zone tables in the Toronto pinball league and they've all been outfitted with a softer spring than you would usually find on a regular table.  I feel like the above settings seem to emulate the softer spring.

Best Regards,

Todd.

LW,

This looks great! Many thanks :)

If possible, I was wondering if you might be able to add some of the custom toys from unclewilly's version?  Like the robots, camera etc?

http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=2609

I like the shadows he applied for the rails etc.  Tends to add a bit of depth, imo.

I've always had a problem retaining the position of the DMD on this table.  It always resets every time I load it up.  Anyone know of a fix?

My issue with the DMD not saving position seems to have fixed itself too.  Don't know how.

LW, just so you are aware...

I don't use UW's version very often because I get horrible horizontal black lines through a lot of the artwork.  A VP display bug no doubt, nothing to do with UW's excellent work.

Thanks again :)

By the way, Inotice a lot of you guys using the term 'dof' and keep thinking 'depth of field'? :)

What is dof?

yea it has to be played on older VP and I just looked at the table his work is amazing but the images are lower res than I like... I did manage to find one of the girl and camera.. I would love to have the Car but cant find a good enough image at the right angle.. I will mess around with it some more.

ok that was in melon thread, for clock to gear properly working, we just need this line, the dof config is already filled accordingly

Sub UpdateClock

Dim Time, Min, Hour, temp

Time = CInt(Controller.GetMech(0))

If Time <> LastTime Then

Controller.B2SSetData 101, 1:Controller.B2SSetData 101, 0

Min = (Time Mod 60)

Hour = Int(Time /2)

ClockShort.RotZ = -Hour  + 45

ClockLarge.RotZ = -min * 6

LastTime = Time

Stopsound "motor"

Playsound "motor"

End If

 End Sub

Hi LW,

I'm working on POV settings for TZ.

Should we branch the tables together, or do you prefer me to release a POV mod?

Cheers.
