Ive been messing around with my 12v 8 port usb relay from sainsmart, and it's driving me nuts, i cannot get this thing to work

for testing purposes i just attached a lamp to each port of the relay.

tested with the sainsmart software, and they all work, so there's no hardware issue.

I followed the DOF install guide to the letter, but no dice

the plugin shows up in the b2s server, so that part works, when i load up the dof config tester with any table, it works a little, the odd buttons activate 4 ports on the relay, and the even buttons the other 4, this has been my situation for 2 weeks now, and i cant get any further.

somehow i think the problem lays in the toy part of my cabinet xml, or better the lack of it, i have no toys defined as i have no clue how to.

also when i download a game config from the dof site, it always gives me the same ini name, should i rename this? and where do I put it?

long story short, i need help! my computer skills are above average, and i have some programming knowledge, but this thing seems way above my head, at this point i would kill for a flashing start button on any table :P

well you just have to love this forum, after posting above thread, and adding tags arngrim's post showed up below it with the ACDC table, figured i would give this try, and waddaya know! ;) it works like a charm, turns out i had 4 ports set to left flipper, and 4 to right hence the weird behavior in test mode :P

So thanks to Arngrim I made a Huuuuge step forward today.

Now basically all i need to figure out why my device works perfectly on the ACDC table, but on non of my others.... again, any help would be much appreciated!

Any chance you could post a web link to your sainsmart usb relay device?  Just so that word gets around what hardware IS compatible with DOF2 please!

Sure,

I'm using the sainsmat 8 port 12 volt usb relay, works like a charm! info here:

http://www.sainsmart...robotics-1.html

my biggest problem was getting the config to download from the Dof config tool site, solution turned out to be to next to your sainsmart device, also set the number of ledwiz devices to 1, and leave its settings blank, if you don't do this you wont be able to config, and download files for your sainsmart.

attached my cabinet xml as a reference

next problem,

got a second sainsmart, works as its supposed to, but i cant get both devices to work at the same time.

now im pretty sure this has something to do with the cabinet.xml, but i cant fugure out what.

i added the second device, have a second ini, but it just activates which ever i put firs in the xml using the serial.

no clue where to go from here...

wait, so even if you don't have an LEWiz, you have to set it to 1?  all I have is a sainsmart that I have tested with thier software, works fine, but no dice in games...

That is 100% correct-- set LEDWiz to 1 then Sainsmart as the secondary device.   I went through the same thing.

Did you find a solution to this? I am having issues with dual Sainsmart 12v 8-channel boards.
