File Name: Devil Riders FS (Zaccaria 1984) (VP9.9 PM5)

File Submitter: Sindbad

File Submitted: 16 Nov 2014

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Sindbad
Manufacturer: Zaccaria
Year: 1984
ROM: Link to ROM
Media Pack: Link to Media Pack
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is my second table submission for today, so I can concentrate now on Vector.

Zaccaria rocks! I was surprised by how many fans this table has. Many other authors helped out with images, sounds, primitives, ideas and suggestions. The best test team in the world did a fantastic job , so the table can be released. It's once more a PM5 version, so Sorry to the non-physmod users. This version includes - as all my tables - day- and night-mode, which can be changed in the options menu (via F6 key). I built the table under the ROM dlvrider, it seems that the ROM has a damaged sound when hitting the drop targets, but I think that doesn't influence the fun factor.

Please don't forget:
This is a physmod table, you need VP9.9 physmod 5 in order to play this table, otherwise unpredictable (or funny) results may occur.

So it's time to present the real stars:

Credits go to:

The Loafer, Shadowsclassic, Nemo, Arngrim, dboyrecords, Zany: Thanks for all the testing, you're so fantastic!!!
Akiles5000, Freneticamnesic, Kiwi: Thanks for the great pictures
JPSalas: Lamp routines, flash routines, some sounds, some images
Koadic: Plunger code
Noah: Nudging routines
Destruk: Sound routines
UncleWilly, Dark, Zany, mfuegemann: Thanks for all the awesome primitives
The VP team and the VPM team: Thanks for the awesome software.

There is no need - NO NEED - to ask for any persmission, use my resources for whatever you want (but not for crime). There's also no need - NO NEED - to name me in the credits when you use resources that came from me.

And now hurry up, download the table and have fun! The desktop version will follow, but will take a while, give me some time.

Hi,

now I have established PM5 as 5th system in PX, all went well.

One question: I ticked in the questionaire "automatic outer flippers", how can I change this decision later?

Thank you,

Christian.

You should be able to see the menu when you press F6.

The author of the table, however, may not have coded the table to have the menu pop up when you press F6.

I think though if the table accesses zac2.vbs in the table script that default dip switch menu should pop up.  Make sure that zac2.vbs is being used in the script.

Hi ta2686,

thank you for your reply. Yes zac2.vbs is called:

line 23   LoadVPM "01110000","zac2.vbs",2.0

however I do not know how I can set DIP switch #4 in order to reach the adjustment routine.

can you or anyone please explain that.

any help is appreciated, Christian.

When you press F6 does something like this show up on screen?

devilridersdips_t.jpg

This should be where you set that DIP Switch #4,

If you are not seeing that, can you post a pic of what you see when you press F6?

Hi ta2686 and ALL,

Sindbad sent me the solution (many thanks for that):

add at Line 1348 the red highlighted command and the tiny but important DIP SW menue will show up when you press the F6 key:

Sub CustomizeTable
     zac2ShowDips
     OptionsEdit
End Sub

For the adjustment itself use ta2686's description and it is important that you run through each adjustment step, you must clear pos 6 - 9 and for the following adjustments you must run through each option one time until you make your choice.

good luck, Christian.

Yep, that fixes it. I won't release any non-VPX-version any more, so if you have the same problem, please fix it by hand.

Christian, do / did you own that machine? How is the physics compared to the original?

Sin

Hi Sin,

I regret but I never played this machine before. However I play pinball since I was about 12-13 yrs old. For me Devil Riders is a true benchmark for realistic game play.

Thank you for sharing it.

my regards, Christian.
