This is a MOD of jpsalas' fantastic F-14 Tomcat VP9 FS table. Thanks a lot to JP for letting me mod this!

All of the changes are cosmetic: lots of cool flashers and alpha GI lighting. Also made the table look a bit darker to enhance the new lighting. Nothing really changed in the physics except for a minor tweak to the flippers. After watching a few videos of the real thing, it seemed like that the angle of the flippers was too wide so I closed it a little bit.

Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks a lot. Looks awesome! Those alpha flashers are fantastic.

I've found that solenoid 14 is used for GI, when #11 should be used. It is "inverted", so you should change the "enabled" to "not enabled" for the alpha ramps on the GI subroutine of the script.

I needed to add also a "refresh" light for the alpha flashers and illumination. As the table worked perfect for everyone else, I presume I'm missing on Visual Pinball any check or option or something like that. Could you help me?

Thanks!

I want to start off by saying thanks for making this table. It plays great! I am having a little trouble with the lights however. I'm sure it's something in my setup though. Can anyone give me some advice on how to resolve this? Please see the following image. These lights seem to be leaving artifacts after they are active. It seems to happen more after the ball goes past them, but not exclusively in that case. My system is fairly stout (i7 3.5GHz, 8 GB RAM, NVidia 660, Win 7 Pro x64), so I don't think I should be running into a resource limitation. I'm also running the VP9.2.0 if that matters. I'm sure it's something not correct in my configuration, I just don't know where to look. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried using the latest beta found in Koadic's signature?  I think some of those glitches around lights were fixed recently.  Give it a shot.

The lighting error still occurs for me even when using the newest revision 912. Does it work for other people without the lighting problems? Still love playing this table, an absolute treat.

I had the same problems until I tried running it with the following Visual Pinball -> Video options.

Hardware Device Rendering ON

Region Optimization ON

That solved the lightning problems on F-14 and some other table I can't remember.

And by the way, do try running it with a newer release of Visual Pinball. Find them here, courtesy of Koadic: https://www.dropbox....VPinball Builds

The issues described here are the ones I noticed. I needed to add a big refresh light to the table, and modify the script to "update" the state of this light when an alpha ramp image was changed...

Hi, guys. Sorry for the long reply time. I've been away from VPF for a while.

In order for this table to work correctly in VP 9.2 you need to set the following options under Video Options:

  • Region Updates: OFF
  • Region Optimizations: ON

This should solve the problems reported above. If you're playing with VP 9.9, the table should work correctly without setting any special options.
