File Category: dB2S Animated Backglasses
Author(s): Hassanchop, JPSalas, luvthatapex, Herweh

Please read this before trying to run the backglass to ensure you have everything you need!
This is the directb2s BACKGLASS. please see companion downloads for the TABLE.

Scarface - Balls and power for pinball cabinets
by Hassanchop, JPSalas, luvthatapex and Herweh
-------------------------------
This is the animated backglass cabinet version of the wonderful Scarface balls and power
table.

This version includes:
- DMD and score display on the 2nd or 3rd monitor
- backglass designed by Hassanchop
- grill designed by Hassanchop for 2 monitor cabs
- Flasher animations on the backglass tied to events in the table
- LEDWIZ controlled flashers and solenoids
- some minor changes with regard to the attract mode and a variable insult mode at the end of the game

NOTE: to turn off ledwiz control simply set LEDWACTIVE=0 at the top of the table script

This requires:
- B2s files (Microssoft .net 4.0, b2s.vbs)
- Backglass designer server 1.0
- ledwiztoolbox kit (ledwiztoolbox.vbs and files from ROSVE)
- configuration of ledcontrol.vbs to match your FLASHERS AND SOLENOIDS

Here is a sample of my config in the ledwiztoolbox.vbs.
This can be used for all original tables that use the LEDWIZ toolkit.
Simply replace my ports with the ports that you have hooked to your
ledwiz:
const LedW_Start = "1"   'Start Button
const LedW_Launch = "2"   'Launch Ball Button
const LedW_CRFlash = "3"  'Center Right Flasher - Red
const LedW_LFlipper = "6"  'Left Flipper
const LedW_RFlipper = "7"  'Right Flipper
const LedW_Knocker = "8"  'Knocker
const LedW_Strobe = "9"   'Strobe Light
const LedW_LSling = "10"  'Left Slingshot
const LedW_RSling = "11"  'Right Slingshot
const LedW_Shaker = "12"  'Shaker Motor
const LedW_RGBFButton = "13"  'RGB Flipper Red
const LedW_GearMotor = "16"  'Gear Motor
const LedW_LBumper = "17"  'Left Bumper
const LedW_RBumper = "18"  'Right Bumper
const LedW_LNBumper = "19"  'Less Noisy Bumper
const LedW_CBumper = "20"  'Back End / Center Bumper
const LedW_CFlash = "21"  'Center Flasher - Red
const LedW_CLFlash = "24"  'Center Left Flasher - Red
const LedW_ORFlash = "27"  'Outside Right Flasher - Red
const LedW_OLFlash = "30"  'Outside Left Flasher - Red
Enjoy!

Exactly, this was mentioned already. You can't run this backglass in exe mode. Simply deselect the exe mode and run it normally and it will be fine.

There is currently a bug in the backglass designer stopping animations in exe mode. Just run it normally for now.

Thank you for this excellent release :)

I am trying to hide the grill and keep the score on the bg screen, but when i remove the grill, the score is gone too

Having a 2.5 screen setup, with a real dmd

Is it possibly fixable?

I have 3 screens and the DMD is on the third screen with no grill.

Not sure about a real DMD, I assume you mean you have russ's pindmd? Do other B2S releases show on the real dmd?

Yes I have the pindmd

Ok I think i understand

If I configure my screenres.txt for 3 screens (that's how we did, at least me, to avoid seeing the grill on the bg, for B2S rosve versions)

and if dmd is enabled, it will be present in the 3rd screen, even if you don't have one

So, with the new d2bs, i need to setup my screenres to 2 screens, can avoid the grill and see the score.

I'll test tonight

I have marked two zeros above. These are the 0's to set the 'LED Display X Offset' and 'LED Display Y Offset'. You have set both to 0 and that means grill is visible by default. This is the standard setting for a 2 screen cab.

Set both values to i.e. '10' and you'll get the backglass without grill and the 'B2S DMD' with the scores 10 pixel from the left and top corner of the backglass. Then improve the settings of these two values.

Does this work?

ok, if you have contactors and a wiper motor on your cab, this script is updated to fire those too.

I will update the official release, but feel free to remove the script on yours and replace it with this script since all the changes are script based.

I have unmounted some parts of my cab, so i can't test right now, but as far as i remember, i had these 0 set to 32, to have it recognized as a 3 screen setup.

And it was not working, but i'll test again once i'll be able to test again.

ok, i could test it, i have filled the 4 zero before the last one and i have a dmd score on the bg :)

When we filled these fields with the screensetup from rosve, it created the screenres.txt as a 3 screen setup.

Just doing it manually from 3 to 2 on the txt itself and it does the trick :)

Thanks Herweh

Not sure if this is the issue but for this latest Scarface B2S, you must use one of the more recent VP915 beta found in Koadic's signature. If you don't, when trying to load into VP, it says the file is corrupt but load it in the VP915 beta and it works ok.  no idea about TOTAN though

Thx The Loafer but it's the initial zip file which is corrupted and cannot be extracted, I had not a chance to start VP with this B2S

I've reuploaded the directB2S file as a zip instead of RAR so its easier for anyone that can't open an RAR.

I just downloaded it and extracted it, so try it now. Of course you also need the table, which is a separate download.

Thank you for this quick update luvthatapex, the new file is ok

(that was probably not a .RAR issue, as WinRar was telling me the archive was corrupted)
