File Name: Grand Lizard FS GI Nightmod
File Submitter: mistermixer
File Submitted: 26 Sep 2012
File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)
Author(s): JPSalas ( original version )
Iceman5000 ( FS version )
Mistermixer ( FS GI Nightmod )
thanx to : TAB,TomDK ( stripped playfield )
Flying Dutchman ( UVP Backglass )
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1986
ROM: Link to ROM
Media Pack: Link to Media Pack
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

This Williams table from 1986 has superb lightFX ( and nice, rare pinballsounds ) + multiball + magna save
So the FSversion from Iceman5000 needed a serious upgrade to highlight all features of this fantastic table

Added :
- General Illumination ( rom controlled )
- Optimized playfield
- Plunger visibility
- JPSalas ball pictures ( yes JPSalas is the original creator !!! )
- ramp tweaking
- multiple sounds,ball movement
- UltraVPServer as default
...

Thanx to all creators from previous versions ( and there release permission )

1 minor point : in the first game (at start-up) the left corner plastic will light up till you hit some targets
( it really baffles me , feel free to solve this )
this strange fact disappears the next games you play :-)

I tried to load the table with VP9.12, VP9.12build7, VP9.12 with 4GB patch and VP9.12build7 with 4GB patch. Same results: VP crashes (vpinball.exe stopped responding...).
This is the only table i have this problem with.

VP does not support images greater than 4096 * 4096, I think.
Even my VP crashes with unlimited textures.

Thanks for the hint! I set my VP to 2048 max texture dimension, the tables loaded, exported the pf and pf_on jpeg images, resized them to something x 4096, reimported them and now the table works fine with unlimited textures!

This doesn't load for me either & I have 16gb of RAM! Yes it is because the PF images used are for some reason blown up very large. I don't play in FS, but I just did a quick conversion for desktop play. Definitely a few issues going on with this table that should maybe be looked into. Maybe get a few testers to help out.

Sorry for the inconvenience , my tectures are also 2048 max . Updated the file so 'unlimited' should work fine. Hopefully you give it a second chance.
Thanx

It's just a minor correction, but you should modify your description, because it's not a multilevel playfield. Grand Lizard is almost the same as Solar Fire in many other respects, but this is one of the few things that is different about them.

I also see 2 files when attempting to download, both seem like 1.02. Maybe just the texture sizes are different?

I've never played this game before today and just have to say that I want the real one badly!  Gone ahead and added a new lizard to table, the previous one was a little too big. Stealing the locked balls is genius, way too much fun.

Can someone help with an on & off image? I have both, but eyes will not flash. Have tried for an hour now :(  is there some special way to have these layers ordered right?

Sure, what do you need?

There should be no need to order the layers. VP can do that on it's own.
