Turn on Hardware Rendering in the display options. Don't forget to restart VP after that.

In video options, experiment with stretch/don't stretch ball. Also check "antialias ball"

...the issue with the ball over the glass of the lower playfield really cannot be fix and is a know issue, unfortunately... JP made it a little better on the latest version, but you can still see weird things, but we bear with it!

... as for the ball image.... the problem is that in order to accommodate the ramps underneath the main playfield, this table had to made much higher than other tables, and thus the issue with the ball looking smaller... there really is no way to fix unless there was a total rebuild in which the table was at a lower height.

BillyLee107: I thought I was the only one having the problem with the "flipper trails". I guess not. Is there an 8.x version of the table that does not have the "flipper trails"? Other than that, I love this 9.x table.

I'm having this problem with the flippers leaving trails too as well as white squares around the bumpers. I've tried everything that everyone has said here and turning on Hardware Rendering causes VPinball to lock up while starting the table.

I have a similar problem with the latest "Lord of the Rings" table where the side bumpers near the flippers are completely covered by giant green boxes and several of the bumpers have white squares around them.

Is it just that this laptop's video card can't handle these tables?

If Hardware Rendering cannot be turned on, then yes, it is likely that the laptop's video adapter is just not up to the task.
For optimal VP experience, Hardware Rendering is a must.

The key word here Faralos is "optimal". No one is saying vp dies not work well with older hardware.
