If you wanted to go a step further, you could put a magnet near the home plate and set the randomness on the magnet strength, as well as leaving it on the kicker.

I remeber playing this when I was young. I dont remeber the ball speed going that fast but it was such a long time ago.Seems really hard to hit one up the ramp.

I just looked at a youtube video and one the line drive model it is kinda fast compared to some other pitch and bats. So nevermind.

Just come back from a two-week holiday....sad.gif but this table is the perfect Antidote for post-holiday blues! smile.gif What a great job Pinuck - the b2s backglass is incredible and the table is perfect for two players - many thanks.

I get the working backglass and all but all I see for a playfield is nothing but black (I see a faint semblance of the batting mechanism but that's all). I have a heavy hitter PC so not sure what's up sad.gif.

thanks for such a perfect recreation. I was playing these type of games at the shore a few weeks back (silverball museum) and thought VP needs better emulation of bat/pitch games and bingo. Thanks Pinuck

John, was this table updated to the latest B2S code. I know you did ABCDAB and Jacks. Cant test it at the moment.

Not yet. I'm a little scared to look at it, since i remember it being a tough job getting the running unit and the B2S template to get along with each other.

I'll take a look when i get a chance though, and hopefully it'll be a simple tweak.

Excellent work on this recreation.

Is there a way to get the B2S to work through Hyperpin?

It automatically does, well pending on your FPLaunch version.
You get an error ?

I get a could not create offscreen surface...Error message..

. All of my other B2S versions are fine... Including Abracadabra today also...

Any ideas...??

Using VP

Thx.

I am having the same issue. Un-checking Hardware rendering does eliminate the error but I end up with a very dark lower image. This is the only table I have an issue. Any ideas on how to get it to run with Hardware rendering enabled?

Core 2Duo 3.0MHz w/ 6GIG RAM, Win7 64-Bit, GeForce GTX560 w/ 2GB RAM. Running 2 Displays

This table looks amazing! Thank you.

I hope this might help others. I really like this awesome 'table' but I was tearing my hair out trying to get it to run on my hardware (above). The answer is to leave hardware rendering on and drop 'Max Texture Dimension' from unlimited to 1024. The other odd thing is that I have to leave 'Const LaunchB2SBackglass = true' eventhough I am using Hyperspin. I hate making a recommendation that contradicts the release notes but it is working for me. I hope this helps someone else.

Another revival of an older thread because a dude (me) missed so many awesome B2S tables.

So anyway, I just have to tip my hat to you pinuck, you did an incredible job with the backglass. I just love the blur effect on the runners, and for whatever reason, there's just a great depth 3D effect that just works. This game, like many others, needs the backglass and the B2S implementation is as good as I could wish for. Naturally, thanks also Rosve for this great contribution to the VP scene, so far, every table I'm loading seems to work flawlessly with no apparent negative effect on the ball movement.

Thanks again to both of you,

Rob

Thanks! The realistic 3-d depth and motion blur is because I shot HD video of the actual runner unit, and chopped up all the runners and shadows frame by frame in photoshop to make the B2S. And if that sounds like a pain, yes it was biggrin.gif

...When i went to Disney World in Florida last week, they had an arcade! I was happy to find about 6 pins (ALTHOUGH THEY WEREN'T SERVICED VERY WELL), and a brand new line drive.

Pinuck, have you seen the newest version? It is very similar, but the layout and graphics are different.

I thought it was interesting to see it has been somewhat updated.

Cheers,
Maceman

No, i haven't. I've seen lots of different (old) pitch & bat machines similar to Line Drive, but not a "new" version of it.
I don't see any mention on ipdb either. No pics?

No, sorry. In hindsight, i should have taken some pics of the arcade.

It looked real nice, maybe only a year or two old at most.

I had to drop the Max Texture to 1024 to make Line drive to work.  While getting Black Rose to work I came across this tip from Wahreez McDermot.  It works for Line Drive as well, I am now back to Unlimited Max Texture!

From the Black Rose Thread:
So here is the link to patch your Vpinball.exe to use more than 2GB of virtual memory.
I'm also not sure if it will work on 32-bit OS's. My antivirus was still running though, so maybe shutting that off I wouldn't need this, but, I'd rather just patch exe to use max adress space than have to shut it down and re-enable.

Also, the patching process is incredibly easy and simple. So take the 30 seconds it takes to do it and avoid future problems! I'm glad I checked the old thread!
