One thing I do not like that much is that the ball is just a little bit too bouncy, at least on the flippers. The ball bounces back on them that easily, it's almost if it would be a featherweight ball with very very elastic rubber on the flippers. Can the ball mass be increased somehow?
You know nothing else has changed in this version besides the FW and the options menu (no table or object physics or PF / plastic image aspects) and you seemed to have a good impression of the table on the previous page, once you found the correct version to reference / download. There's no ball weight adjustment in VP and I personally would absolutely love to be able to have a physics setting that changes that property. There's an aspect to affect the collision mass but that's only for when it comes in contact with other walls and objects plus there was something witnessed as a side effect that seemed when the ball size was increased beyond the standard 50 units, that a heavier feel was noticed but cannot be manipulate without it seemingly going along with size increases.
Ideally, down the road hopefully when some physics of VP start to get tweaked, there can be some way to change the density of the ball itself as I feel this could unlock a lot more potential for VP in it's ball physics combined also with some aspect of considering it's density compared to the objects it's hitting (i.e. steel hitting rubber, wood, or plastic objects).
And by the way, it is indeed from a native (945 x 2048) image as I personally worked with the .psd document which was not zoomed or fuzzy at all and crystal clear. You should check that this higher demanding table isn't somehow switching your windows mode or 3D / video driver settings affecting a clear result. Make sure you also use anisotropic filtering at 4-8x to help with the plastics being not blurry (to my knowledge this does not affect PF quality for whatever reason).
I really hope that VP will get a physic enhancement in future. A ball mass option would make the whole experience a lot more realistic. On some tables FP provides a better experience than VP. Maybe these two engines could be combined for the greater good?
Can you let me have a look at the native PS file? Do you have a link?
I worked a lot on these two ones lately (and these are really sharp for my cabinet monitor):

@ClarkKent - Just export the images you think are fuzzy out of the table and use those in your assessment as that will be a better test to show they really are high quality rather than focusing on the multi-layer source .psd file from which other renders / exports took place.

Wow! I've been out of VP "world" for a year or so, and when I come back I see this. Just awesome!
By the way, what is the purpose of the four little lights on the apron? Sorry if it seems a dumb question, but last VP version I played was 9.12 and now we're talking about 9.2 ![]()
Thanks!

I was right. The playfield was certainly enlarged from a smaller source with Photoshop or similar. Have a look at the comparison I made from the actual playfield (left side) and a segment from the real playfield (right side). I already thought that this was done as I have seen such things many many times...
I hope a better quality version of the playfield can be found some day! I'll look for it by myself.

the small lights are showing when BPMR is in effect. BPMR is kinda like new physics for VP or at least make the ball behave much more realistic imho.
Thanks for your answer. I need to update my knowledge about VP... So I'll just hide those lights.
Again, awesome job.

Honestly, this was based off wtigers upload from back in '09, stretched/squished, layered with other images found on the interwebs, a few parts redrawn, and then run though photoshop a few times to even out colors. We started this table rebuild around the time captain neo and plumb were uploading all those wonderful playfields, but unfortunately they didn't have a scan of Hurricane, so I had to make do with what was available. Granted, while this is quite a bit different from the starting point, and I would like to think better as well, there just weren't any super nice photos/scans that I could get my hands on.
I'll look for a better solution. But this can take some time. Maybe I can offer something in future. Let's see!

It might be a selection in the rom, not sure. You can always get the manual and read through it to check. http://mirror2.ipdb....cane_Manual.pdf

I can not do wonders with the material I have but I think this one should be much much better to look at. It's sharper and fresher. Maybe this can be used?

The Ferris wheels are aligned incorrectly for me. They are vertical while the earlier version didn't have this problem:

I'm using VP 9.2 rev. 740
Does anyone else experience the same issue? How can it be fixed?
