Hello, 

just tried this since a few days. Everything is almost fine unless that i cant see any of the ultradmd video if there are some in the directory. I see the static images but no videos ... i dont get it. for example the diablo table, i see the diablo head behind the score, but black screen when i start an act .. i have unblocked all the dll and exe i think and i hadnt this pb with ultradmd.

 

any clue on this ?

win 7 64 bits, using the last freezy dll 1.7.3, lcd screen for the dmd

Hi,

 

FlexDMD uses the windows video decoding. If you have an old Windows 7, it may be missing the latest wmv decoders used in Diablo videos. UltraDMD use LAV Filters, so it behave differently.

Based on this, all Windows 7 should be ok... But sometimes...

I have just published a new version, tagged 0.1.5, with the following improvments ;

- add support for text coloring as reported by alulabxx and OutHere ; the dmd color is now used to color the text when rendering in full color,

- fix Iron Maiden logo disappearing in the recently released Iron Maiden table from Mussinger,

- Upgraded the PinballY script (add global stats, and a VPX logo from Markus Kalkbrenner for Original tables).

 

There is a known issue in this release ; if a table use both VPinMame and FlexDMD, and VPinMame is configured to use dmddevice.dll, then a conflict arise since both of them will use the same dmddevice.dll (this can be the case in Iron Maiden for example). The workaround is to uncheck 'Use external DMD (dll)' in the VPinMame's table options. I will have a look if I can find a better fix.

 

Please test and report any issue you may find.

Thanks a bunch Vincent. I only had time to try the new version for one game tonight, but, it was working flawlessly on the already mentioned Iron Maiden with Pindmd3.

What do you think of this ideal?

Have the text On the screen Be different colors
Is it something you have to do to flexDMD to make this possible or have to do something in a script or Both

Example -- One phrase be one color and the next phrase a different color or have each letter be different ..

The latest release already support this but you need to have a script designed for this, using the FlexDMD API, not the UltraDMD wrapper (UltraDMD does not have any function for this).

The FlexDMD API is not yet documented. I will write the doc when the API will be stable (no more bug and at least one or two real life project finished).

To give some hints if you want to try, in FlexDMD, you create Font objects which can have any color, then you use them in labels (Label object) that you place on drawing surfaces (Group object).

Yeah I didn't figure UltraDMD would do it but I thought maybe FlexDMD could and that is a good news

You lost me already, I will have to wait for You to do the write up and give an example

 

It would appear the FlexDMD files have to go in the VPinMame folder or it will not recognize this file DmdDevice.ini

If you have then in Different place, Then You will need to unregister then move them and re-register

If you agree then on the GitHub you need to change it to, They have to put him in the VPinMame folder folder

still no videos, i can read the videos with windows media player without issues but with flexdmd black screen.. tried to revert to ultra dmd to check if the videos play well (i m pretty sure they were) but ultradmd seems broken now after unregistering in the flexdmdui. I will have to reinstall it i guess

unfortunately no for me, is the only table giving me a problem.

No backglass, no DMD and table froze as soon as it loads.

Can you make a copy of your table script and share it if it's possible.

thank you for the help, but still nothing . I do have both option replaced too (flexdmd and ultradmd). Still the table with the downloaded script freeze

Did you have a look to dmddevice.log (should be in visual pinball directory) ? If you could post the content, it would help to analyse the bug (I can play the Kiss table without any problem here, so it is difficult to solve the bug without additional informations).

It seems your log level is too low to get usefull informations. It would be nice if you could follow the steps provided here : https://github.com/f...#reporting-bugs (FlexDMD use the same logging system as Freezy's DMD extension).

The bug you are facing is very strange. I'd like to solve it but have no clue of what is going on

revert to ultra dmd , in fact i had this issue already with ultra dmd, no video playing on the dmd only images.. strange .. i can play the video wirh windows media player so not a codec pb i guess...

 

example on diablo table, i can't see the animations witrh the monsters... only text and bar progress with the boss

 

i looked at a game on youtube to be sure, i am missing a lot of animations on my pincab.. shame 

 

guess i can go back to flexdmd , same behavior and less freezy

 

buit if someone has a clue , i m interrested ;-)

Problem with Kiss backglass solved solved. wasn't running latest b2s server.

Instead now all the EMREEL are showing on my playfiled and dmddevice.ini is showing Alphanumerical lines of each game I played.

Any suggestion??
