Maybe there is a reason why 1347 is the only one on the actual official download list as recent  (from what im reading in several posts above)?

There's a ton of changes going on in the new builds right now too, so it can be harder to pin stuff down, IMO.

10.8 beta gl version build 1618 works with Cliffy/Jarr workaround posted earlier. Non gl build 1618 still having rendering issues. GNR table is fantastic on single screen laptop with altsound and color dmd. Thank you authors for all your work. We appreciate ya!

Hello All,

Wonder if anyone else has had this issue: More likely it is PinUp Popper, but I'll ask. Every since I started using VP 10.8 (about 2 months now) after uploading a new table, I record the backglass, playfield etc., for attract mode in Popper. Problem is recording the playfield - Seems like it records things out of layer order. The games play perfect, just the captured playfield record is layer skewed, ball goes wher it is not supposed to, if that makes sense. I figured that for now, I would just record and wait to hear about a fix, but I am starting to acquired quite a stockpile of playfield videos, so I thought I would reach out to the group and see if anyone knows of a solution.

Try pressing o and selecting playfield to record in popper before opening the table (from wheel). Once it loads then press your record and the layers should still be correct.

Anyone else noticing credit/token counters (the reel/led that shows how many coins you have inserted) not working?  Is this just on my end?  Thanks.

EM wise, i tried jungle queen, they worked, also batter up

ROM wise, they display whatever the ROM shows, it the table has a desktop backdrop.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

I updated to 1622 this morning and noticed that -ini didn't use the ini file anymore that I specified, but just uses the %appdata%
Also, my Joystick mappings where gone. When setting these into the dialog again, I noticed that the joystick entries are now twice in the INI flie.

Still in the INI at "; Joystick input mappings", but little bit lower it is again in the INI file (and looks like using that part (search on 'JoyCustom1')

Also notice when changing POV and saves it, it also makes an INI for the table (I don't want that !)
anyone has the same issue that Joy mappings are gone and that the -ini parameter isn't used ? If so, I will create a github issue

Edit : created for INI parameters issue https://github.com/v...ball/issues/970
Asked about the table POV save with INI as well in it

I just tried build 1606 this week and encountered two new problems as others have mentioned (just for additional confirmation):

  • Creating an unwanted .ini file for each table when I run the table and edit pov
  • Frame pacing seems horrible now (it reports like 2 fps and stutters like crazy). That's with the limit set at 60. Switching to vsync everything seems fine.

When using the on-demand POV function now (F12) is there anyway to disregard the "save" window?  Possibly setup an auto "save" function when F12 is used so we don't get the window that jumps focus?

Yeah, this is the per-table .ini auto generating that I mentioned before.  Not sure if it is intended or not.  (I've opened a github ticket #973 for this).

Two that I noticed are 2001 and Centaur... both did not register number changes with a coin insert.

I've noticed this as well, counter doesn't show added credits but they still register and game can still be started. A table that comes to mind is JPSalas Xenon.

Another problem I've had with Xenon among other tables that use textboxes for text such as "Ball In Play" or "Game Over" is the font size is way off and only a corner of the text can be seen. As far as I know this isn't a 10.8 problem and it's a bug that's been around awhile. Surprised it still hasn't been fixed. Is there anyway to change the font size and have it stick?

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded to VPX 10.8 32 bit release version and I'm noticing a stutter / lag ever 2 seconds during most of my tables. All ran

smoothly before. I'm runnning on an Nvidia 2060 super if that helps.

Is there some setting I need to change?

Best,
Luca

Try setting the frame pacing option

"it will all be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end"

I have a basic understanding of what the "tonemapping" setting is going to do, but I have to admit I have no idea what Reinhardt or Tony McMapface are (I assume they are the tonemap authors maybe?).  I noticed that Flupper had a recent trouble ticket in for the McMapface, which was apparently resolved... I see some differences in them but I'm wondering if anyone knows specifically what the differences are so we know when to use them.  Thanks for the help.

Try setting the frame pacing option

Thanks for your suggestion.
That did not solve the issue. There are still suvere stutters in periodic time intervals.

Hey Lardos... I would like to try to help, but we have no idea what your VPX settings are, your system settings, what VPX build you are using... we have nothing to go on.  Best thing is to post a screenshot of your settings and type out some more information for us.  The only thing you have mentioned, specifically, so far is that you are getting stutter and you have a 2060 gpu.

Sorry,

I just realized that this issue also happens for VPX 10.7

I have no idea how this suddenly happens. I did a windows update... Maybe it has something to do with that...

Here you can read more about the new ball in 10.8:

vpinball/Upgrading Table 10.8.md at master · vpinball/vpinball (github.com)

They should of added that the sound is much lower on all tables for FX like calls outs and sound!

I just updated to 10.8 Beta 5.

Anyone know how to fix?

I replaced the files from my 10.74 backup and still very low sound from my mains on all tables with volume maxed.

This proves as I have been saying that just launching 10.8 makes changes elsewhere no matter the naming convention.

Even going back to 10.74 and things are not the same.

Kind of freaking out here.

TIA
