@wiesshund

This line is not commented on all the taito tables below with this subroutine and I never removed any comment

Cavaleiro Negro (Taito 1981)
Cosmic (Taito 1980)
Drakor (Taito 1979)
Fire Action (Taito 1980)
Fire Action De Luxe (Taito 1983)
Gemini 2000 (Taito 1982)
Gork (Taito 1983)
Hawkman (Taito 1983)
Lady Luck (Taito 1978)
Lunelle (Taito 1981)
Meteor (Taito 1981)
Mr Black (Taito 1982)
Oba Oba (Taito 1978)
Polar Explorer (Taito 1983)
Rally (Taito 1980)
Shark (Taito 1982)
Shock (Taito 1979)
Snake Machine (Taito 1981)
Space Shuttle (Taito 1982)
Speed Test (Taito 1981)
Sure Shot (Taito 1981)
The Last Starfighter (Taito 1983)
Titan (Taito 1982)
Vegas (Taito 1979)
Volley (Taito 1981)
Vortex (Taito 1983)
Zarza (Taito 1982)

I will comment this line like you suggest me on all this taito tables.

' Do
' LampTimer_Timer ' This loop is needed to avoid the NVram reset (losing the hi-score and credits)
' Loop Until LampState(20) = 1 ' when the game is over but the match procedure isn't still ended

Thanks for your help !  :)

just to make sure im not insane, i redownloaded JP's taito tables, ALL of them

In none of them does he have those lines uncommented

because if you do, the table will just wait indefinitely upon trying to exit

i am not sure how you came to have those uncommented?

make sure you dont have an external VBS files that could be overriding his script

(i suspect because vbs isnt going to wait, it isnt gosub and return, so if i sent it to do sub A, its going to call sub a let that do its thing while the main sub continues on with its business, which is attempting to exit the table regardless of if sub a is done or not)

I'm Up to date with all the jpsalas taito table downloaded from the vpforums.

I'm having done the change on all the table on the post above and all is working like a charm!

I noticed only one of the table having the comments, all others tables don't

funky...

it's not required anyways, it's only to prevent doing a reset, but to reset, you would need 2 credits in and be holding start and coin 1
i do not think anyone exits a table holding start and coin 1 ?

Not something i find myself doing

@wiesshund

I verified all the taito tables and the list above is all the tables to check if someones having the same issues.

Others Taito tables not listed above don't have this loop in the script.

Thanks  :)

I dont think it is a case of too slow, but too fast.
Whole thing gets killed faster than the loop gets it's answer

Once killed of course, the answer will never come, there will be no answer, so stuck in loop

The off chance that someone exits holding the reset combo is kind of who cares?

It's a Taito ROM, it doesnt store names etc, doesnt have tourney modes or any of the things we might set in other ROMS just the highest score, if you reset it by accident, no huge loss.

Not worth being held hostage by a loop that checks for something that 99.99% of people would not be doing anyways

@wiesshund

I noticed somes others tables on my setup that show me the freeze issue on my two differents computers.

America 1492 (Juegos Populares 1986)
Aqualand (Juegos Populares 1986)
Lortium (Juegos Populares 1987)
Olympus (Juegos Populares 1986)
Quijote (Juegos Populares 1987)

The exit sub is like this

Sub Table1_Exit()
Controller.Pause = False
Controller.Stop
End Sub

I commented the line just before the Controller.Stop command to solve the similar issue as the taito table and the tables don't crash anymore

Sub Table1_Exit()
' Controller.Pause = False
Controller.Stop
End Sub

It seems that Controller.Stop command don't like having a task just before

Very Strange ! :unsure:

very odd that controller.pause would cause a spaz out

controller pause is what happens anyways when you hit Q

it is already paused

that's funky

It looks like the "/exit" command is coming up as an invalid parameter as of the latest build.  I'm wondering if this needs a bug report or if this is intended for some reason?

*edit*  Looks like it's related to a fix for issue 805.  I put brief notes on that issue.

but with the last version, same problem

What build number are you using now?

I followed your instructions, and I downloaded the VPinballX-10.8.0-1477-f2221ed-Release-win-x64
I tried the OpenGL version too.

That's super strange.
If I play with the very last table from VPX (like Rollercoaster Tycoon or Police Force), it's perfect.
Every other table are rendered in a super low resolution. Even VPW "recent" table, like AC-DC.

Do you have an idea wha'ts the difference with the very last one ?

Never mind I know how to fix the Bloom and stuff now. No more too much. :)

I had to play around with it. Keep messing with it.

Toxie responded and the /exit parameter is re-added in the latest builds for anyone using this in their frontend.  Thanks, Toxie.

Hey leeoneil... did you try the "max texture dimension" dropdown box in the video options?  If you set that to a different setting does it change anything for you?

Yes, I think I tried every option on the visual settings.

No one seems to do anything... Is there somewhere a file with the visual settings registered (except the screenres ?) ?

Maybe it's a problem with an old file or something like that ?

Maybe one of the guys that are smarter than me can jump in with some advice.  It doesn't sound like a 10.8 beta problem, and at least you know how to find the latest versions now.  Sorry I couldn't help.

The problem appears only with 10.8, 32 bits or 64 bits, if it can help....

Screenres is not from vp but from directb2s.
10.8 keeps the settings in %appdata%\vpinballx\vpinballx.ini. if you delete this file, and relaunch vp, it will create a new file based on the settings from vp 10.7 ( the registry keys settings )

@leeoneil

If you have a github account, just sign in and try the latest build from the Actions section.

The current latest build is the 1482.

back to the beginning. You day that everything runs in a low resolution.
can you make a screenshot of a table in low res ?
And also post a screenshot of your VPX 'Video/Graphic options' ?
Thanks

Black dot and shadow is gone now on the ball. Reflection seem to be working. Just now tested the new VPX8 beta. Disable Lighting unchecked.  :)

Looks weird on a glow ball. Silver ball would be a better choice. lol
