You can have only that setting.

Nice and thanks. I wasn't aware of that as well. Makes it easier to have just some settings changed.

End of Summer was busy for me so I just upgraded my VPX beta version from 1336 (7/25) to 1408 (yesterday) and I just want to say that the uplift in visual quality even on pre-existing tables is immediately noticeable! Wow, it looks great!

I'm running 1080 x 1920 in a cab with a 1080ti and maxxed settings. All I did was upgrade version and go into visual settings and max out the new options. So, amazing job on the improvements!

When playing with the DX version I can see some white flashes of light when the ball trails are on. If you experience those flashes of light (white) then you may turn off the ball trails. I only know another person and me who has those flashes.

Hello all. Quick question. I've been using the 10.8 beta on my cabinet for a while now and have been keeping it pretty up-to-date. Yesterday, while the machine was idle and in the Pinup Popper menu, it was inadvertently powered off (not shutdown normally). Upon restarting the machine, everything seemed to come back up as expected until I went to launch a game from Pinup Popper. The game launched in desktop mode. I exited PP and took a look at things in 10.8 and everything seems to have been reset to defaults. Also, things like the recent games had been cleared, etc. When I launch games using 10.7.2, everything works normally, but 10.8 (32 and 64 bit) are whacked out.

Might anyone know which files may have been damaged or deleted that could account for this kind of behavior in 10.8 but not affect 10.7.2? Thanks for any guidance.

Wait, what? JP uses ball trails in VPX??? That's pinball sacrilege!

I figured it out. The answer was to be found in this post on another site. Apparently, starting with 10.8, VPX no longer uses registry settings for some things and, instead, saves to a local configuration file. When launching the VpinballX.EXE (VpinballX_GL.EXE, VPinballX64.exe or VPinballX_GL64.exe) for the first time, it will copy all the settings from the registry to %appdata%\VPinballX\VPinballX.ini. When my system was powered off unexpectedly, this file was damaged or deleted and a new, virtually empty one was put in its place. So I removed that file temporarily, and launched 10.8 again directly. This time, it picked up on the registry settings from my 10.7.2 configuration and wrote the new ini file. Other than a couple of tweaks that I had made in 10.8, everything was back working as it should.

Yes, 10.8 only stores the editor settings in the registry.
Not why it still does those in registry but it does

Still no mouse here.
Tried all Versions since beta 5 to 1412 as standalone (unzipped) and none of these versions show a mouse over the playfield.
Same, when I update my vpx installation. I would like to know where I can find these magic working scripts. I tried every script folder since beta 5.. (1347)
Issue is closed on github, so I guess there is a solution!?
thanks for you hints..

No Sir. I am on Desktop, Fullscreen window. vpinmame 3.6, b2s 2.0.2. As far as I know, I am not the only one. Have no Idea what to do. I get the mouse with esc or F1. otherwise it is only be shown above backglass. If I try to get the puppack windows menu with right click, there is a crash. Using 10.7.4 Final everything still works.

The mouse not showing is a bug. And until it is fixed here is the solution that works for me, as I wrote before:

To get the mouse while playing just hit the D key to open the debug window and that will activate the mouse cursor. You can press ESC and the debug window will close and you will still see the mouse.

No Sir. If I close the debug window, mouse is gone again. But: If it is a Bug officially, its ok. I will wait. Good to hear that the problem is not only for me.
Thanks for the Info!

As JP said above, you need to hit the D key then the ESQ key which keeps the mouse cursor active

There is a closed github issue #652.  There is also #527 (also closed).  I didn't see a currently open one.  This issue isn't something I've been paying attention to... but you might want to look at the issues on github and see if there is an open one, and if not, open a new one.

He should provide every detail about his system as well
OS version, gpu make model, exact driver version etc
Everything that seems remotely relevant.

it's apparently not an everyone issue, so they need to know what it replicates on

Yeah... sorry I didn't mention that but always the more details you give the VPX guys in your bug reports, the better chance you have of getting it fixed.

Alright, I must be doing something wrong. I copied the 10.8 files into my working10.7 directory, and when I click the 10.8 executable, I get this:

Any idea what I am doing wrong here?
