Thanks for the link..  Tried revisions 1360 and 1362 with same result.  Many tables just getting table sounds.  Wondering if per chance it's something in the sound card configuration?  It's a 5.1 but only has front a rear plugged in.

Is it only the GL version? DX version is ok?

Hey there, I have only been playing around with the DX (regular) version, I'm not running VR so was not messing around with it.

Was thinking tonight I might try a fresh install in a different directory to see if that changes anything.

that would only cause sounds to come out wrong, IF vpx was set to 7.1 or something like that.

if windows and vpx are set to 4 channel sounds, no issues.
Not your issue especially

When i copy files from 10.8 to my VPX 10.7.3 folder i have weird ball behaviour, ball is moving too fast and all movement is messed up.

Hi all - I'm trying to get setup from a new install for VR. I've installed:

VPX 7.2 installable

I've copied over both x86 and x64 files from the latest 10.8 VPX version on github.

Have installed the latest VPinMame (32 and 64 bit).

From this point, all the latest tables seem to work fine. Trouble began when I then attempted to copy the 10.8 VPX GL files for VR...

I tried copying over all the files from the GL version, here:
https://github.com/v...ase-win-x64.zip

But strangely, got the behaviour described above, with sped up ball physics, and some stuck key behaviour for the plunger.

Before I attempt again (it took a few goes to get back to a working installation), I'd like to know if copying everything in the GL zip to the main VPX folder is what is recommended? Or should I only be copying a selection of files?

Cheers,

EDIT: I've retried just copying all the VPX GL files across to my main VPX folder and everything seems to be working ok this time around (no sped up ball physics).

hussa fellow wizards!

I just upgraded to vpx 10.8 beta (32bit) and I notice the following across all tables:

1) environmental emission scale is significantly lower than before

2) the day/night cycle seems to be much less impacting on the illumination than in 10.7

I tried cranking up the day-night difference in the table settings and it worked, so i guessed the issue must be somewhere in the global day-night shift differences.

I have 320 tables set up completely manually, so I am hoping that someone has experienced the same and found a global fix.
I use default in the table settings, so a global solution would solve it for me.

Keep on playing!

anyone know why changing a table from legacy to window turns the playfield screen black?   I change it back to legacy and the playfield is back.  I am on 10.8 beta 5.

When you go to Window Mode, you need to adjust Player Z to around 80 to bring the table up.........or just hit your "launch" button and it will load some default values.

Hey folks, so I searched this thread and other areas, so apologies if this was answered elsewhere, but I could not find it.  Upgraded to 10.8 Beta 5 and am struggling with sound but only on some machines. Specifically I'm only getting machine/playfield sounds.

AC/DC works fine, but things like Gilligan's Island (and many others) I only get machine sounds no music.  I have under audio selected "Surround Sound (All Effects to Rear Channels)".  If I switch it to 2 channel I get everything again but that's not how I have my cabinet set up :-).  If I revert back to 10.7.4 everything again works like a champ.  This is true in both the 64 and 32 bit versions (both 7.4 versions work, but neither 8.0).  I'm running PinMame 3.6, roms tests load find, paths seem correct etc.  Note, I have tried the other surround sound configurations with same results, but my cabinet just as Front and Rear.

Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.

So I figured out the issue, but would love for someone to explain to me either why it's working or if I have/had something misconfigured.  After troubleshooting back and forth between machines that worked (AC/DC) and ones that didn't (Gilligan's Island) I figured that it had to be something with vpinmame.  So I started tweaking default settings in vpinmame, and when I uncheck "Use Sound" all of a sudden the sound starts working.  So I thought I would share this in case someone else had a similar issue and I would love for someone to explain what I did wrong :-)

PS. You all are awesome, and the new version looks and plays amazing, thank you all for what you do!

Hi!

I've recently upgraded to 10.8 beta 5 (including vpinmame 3.6 and freezy & dmdserver to the latest version. The strange thing is that i'm missing some of the graphics. On Johnny Mnemonic for example (screenshot below), one flipper, the playfield and a couple of other things are missing. The table plays ok in spite of this, but I can't for the life of me understand what's wrong.
