I was so hoping this table would get done in VPX....  I couldnt help myself not to play with this table in 10.4 replacing a few materials here and there... used the new disable lighting on the shrunken head, I also added a subtle red highlights to the to the heads texture (reflection off the red ramps) .... and just because I personally like all the shadowing stuff... they were added as well...

That looks fantastic! How can I do this? Or can you share your table?

Where is the disable lighting feature in 10.4 and how does it work?  Do you need to select individual items on the table, then select to disable lighting on that item?

Wouldn't it be correct to say that people could learn from your tweaks by downloading the "older" version of Evel Knievel and compare it to the new one you updated on randr site ?

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I guess... but stuff like the object shadows would take some PS skills.... but yeah if they take it apart you can see how it was done... as for materials and lighting that's more a playing thing and understanding what the values mean...

Thanks HF.  I started messing around with the Disable lighting feature and now I find myself looking at lots of tables to see where I might want to try that feature.

Table crash at start.

i try with 10.4.0 / 10.3.1

And i have no idea

STRANGE !!

Update

First have to open another table, and close it.

Then load this table, and it loads with no errors.

Newest dll / scripts and 10.4.1 same problem.

it crash by starting the table.

Fix: (stange) start a random table and play, then close.

Start ripley and it works.

I have a pindmdv3, I had the same crashes, if I select use external dmd the game loads a dmd screen will appear on the playfield not the pindmd and it crashes, if I uncheck use external dmd it will load but no dmd is displayed this was using 2.8, I loaded 2.7 build and it worked fine I just reinstalled 2.8 and the crash problem is back. the rom runs great on the pinmame test. My original post had it backwards so I edited this and I have the latest 10.4 build this is the only problem I have had?  Also if I check the show dmd the non pindmd will show and the rom works fine

pindmd3 - not experienced any problems (yet ?) except the usual - need to disable ext dmd if I want to use pbxrecorder. I don't remember, but I can't recall that I've disabled at91jit for this table. But, you guys with problems could try and see if that helps in any way. I'm on the latest of everything btw.

Sometime it is enough to load a different table and run it - to resolve these kind of problems. Weird - yes :)

There is currently (still) a problem in PinMAME with Whitestar II tables and the JIT speedup code..  :/

One can workaround it by searching for AT91jit in the registry and one will find this one for each machine.
Setting it to 0 will disable JIT, and (maybe should) fix your issue..

That did the trick worked 1st time with use external dmd checked no crash,  I did have to change the dmd in the script to 0 because I had both dmd's showing but it seemed to have done the trick, with the use external dmd not checked table loaded but no dmd as it did before. Thanks

It's a mess, i know, but the main guy who wrote it (mjr) did not look into it anymore, and DJRobX and myself were not able to track this down so far.

Maybe if enough people bug mjr about that issue, he'll look into it again?   ;)
