So, we have a contender to help Arngrim out a bit from time to time on our hands ?
Nice find Ginsonic - and thank you.

You're welcome  :)

And well, I can read pinball manuals and I know a few things about DOF logic, but I am only a humble student compared to master Arngrim !

Quite apart from the fact, that only Arngrim has write access to the DOF database  ;)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

hee, i was just distracted by work and real life lol

i have more to update in the dof config, but there's still an issue about the knocker, i'm not sure S1 is the knocker solenoid, or the following logic is not right, at least for the knocker

ub UpdateSolenoids
    Dim Changed, ii, solNo
    Changed = Controller.ChangedSolenoids
    If Not IsEmpty(Changed)Then
        For ii = 0 To UBound(Changed)
            solNo = Changed(ii, CHGNO)
            If Controller.Lamp(34)Then
                If SolNo = 1 Or SolNo = 2 Or SolNo = 3 Or SolNo = 4 Or Solno = 5 Or Solno = 6 Or Solno = 8 Then solNo = solNo + 24 '1->25 etc
            End If
            vpmDoSolCallback solNo, Changed(ii, CHGSTATE)
        Next
    End If
End Sub

SolCallback(1) = "vpmSolSound SoundFX(""knocker"",DOFKnocker),"
SolCallback(2) = "dtRBank.SolDropUp"
SolCallback(3) = "dtTBank.SolDropUp"
SolCallback(7) = "SolShieldPost"
SolCallback(8) = "bsTrough.SolOut"
SolCallback(19) = "RelayAC"
SolCallback(25) = "SolZipOpen"
SolCallback(26) = "SolZipClose"
SolCallback(30) = "dtTBank.SolHit 1,"
SolCallback(6) = "dtTBank.SolHit 2,"
SolCallback(29) = "dtTBank.SolHit 3,"
SolCallback(5) = "dtTBank.SolHit 4,"
SolCallback(28) = "dtTBank.SolHit 5,"
SolCallback(4) = "dtTBank.SolHit 6,"
SolCallback(27) = "dtTBank.SolHit 7,"
SolCallback(32) = "bsSaucer.SolOut"

everytime the SolZipOpen is called back (or the SolZipClose is shutdown), somehow L34 becomes off and then S25 becomes S1, and knocks

that's how i understand it, i don't have an idea on how to solve this, any idea jp?

yes the manual says that but the old bally have sometimes different solenoid numbers in the script compared to the manual

you can see other old bally, early 80's tables with the same case

http://www.ipdb.org/...chtype=advanced

but here it's a little bit different, the script says that when Lamp 34 is ON, the solenoid integer number must be + 24, but everytime the up flippers get opened, S25 is SolZipOpen, S25 - S24 = S1 knocker, everytime the zip opens it knocks, i checked some youtube videos and it doesn't do that

so i have to play with conditions in the configtool to knock the knocker less often, if possible

@Arngrim: Just noticed, that you did a new Medusa DOF config with a knocker condition, thanks a lot for that  :otvclap:

BTW: You are right, S15 is better located on right back bumper than on right Slingshot !

yep, i'm just sure it's not optimal, sometimes i still hear the knocker more than it should, but i can't do better than that

Thanks a lot JP, I love this table!

A small thing, the bumpers 1 and 2 have the mechanical sound balanced on the right channel, instead of the left.

Thanks :) But I guess most of the credit goes to VPX. Now you don't need to be an expert in photoshop to get nice graphics. Well, you still need to make the basic playfield and plastics, but all the general illumination can be done using the new VPX lights :) I use them in their basic settings, just a light under the plastics which illuminates also the plastics on top. But if you want to really get nicer lightning you may use several lights on top of each other (at different heights), to separate the playfield, the bulb lights and the plastics lightning, as some other authors do.

When playing this only via PBX, It won't run and I get the attached script error. Works fine from the editor. Any suggestions?

If you are using run as administrator for pinballx - also make sure it is set for pinballx.

Not sure what that means. How do I set it to run as admin and set it for pinballx?

Right click over your VPinballX.exe -> Select "compatibility" -> Run as administrator.

Correct. And that leads to me also wanting you to do that for regular vpinball.exe. It is in 99% of the cases a good thing to do. I've seen  maybe one case where the user had Win10 and it actually became a problem. It you don't, you can often see things like highscores not sticking and dmd reverting to old locations. This because vpinball.exe isn't allowed to write common files or registry correctly.
