@OzBlackKnight : strange, for me it's the exact opposite : Setup.exe's Test function works without any issue but VP(9/X) crashes when launching a table.

I dont get any further.

I have full color DMD support up and running for 2 tables but for these tables, I have to alt-tab once or to click with the mouse onto the main Screen (3 screen setup) to get back focus to VPX. Otherwise my keyboard/pinscape inputs are not recognized.

All other standard DMD tables just running like a charm. VPX ist setting up in windowed mode without any problems.

I would like to say thanks in advance for any help

@poposchmatzer; As always, I need to be able to reproduce the problem in order to fix it. If you don't tell me which tables don't work (preferably with links), I can't do that.

@poposchmatzer; Basically I have this focus problem for every table I switch to color palette support e.g. lucky1 altcolor palette files or ***** projects (disable Show DMD/Display window and enable Use external DMD dll and copied altcolor file)
After starting table, I have colored DMD and everything looks fine except for the missing focus. Switching back to standard DMD (enable Show DMD/Display window and disable Use external DMD dll and erase altcolor file) focus is there and I can instantly play.

Just to clarify here, I can use this setup without an actual physical DMD controller correct? All I need is my VP cab, my third monitor where I display my DMDs, and the drivers/software setup right? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but after reading through this a couple of times I still was not 100% certain whether this allowed for the bypassing of a physical DMD controller or if it was a supplement to one.

Thanks.

Yes you can use a 3 monitor setup, just edit .INI file for your setup.

@poposchmatzer; Switching to VPX "Force exclusiv Fullscreen" setting and the focus problem is gone. But I would rather play in windowed mode because of some Problems. Help!

I can not get this working :-(  I either get "No DMD device driver found" or the table crashes within a few seconds. I am running a two screen setup with a virtual DMD on my second monitor (Windows 7). I have tried the DMDdevice.dll in both my Vpinmame folder and SysWOW64 folder. The rom works fine when I don't check the "Use external DMD (dll)" but not in colour. I have the Altcolor folder in my Vpinmame folder. I am at a loss as to whats wrong?

I have the .pal file in a folder that matches the rom name in the altcolor folder. Is that correct?

I have also tried it with the DMDdevice.ini  edited to False for all the PINDMD options.

Yes that is correct but you also need palette folder with (romname).pal

I don't use a (romname).pal file only a pin(two)dmd.pal file in \altcolor\rom_name\ folder.

Do you check the option "Colorize DMD (4 colors)" in the VPinMAME settings for each table as well?

Is there a way to use only these standard red 16 shade color palettes without coloring and patching? According to my understanding, the palettes already exist in (some) roms?

I'm not 100% sure on this. But I believe that the release 141 palettes or so, are fine for general usage. But, if you patch a rom, then there is also a palette file that you are supposed to use that correspond to the patch.

So, yes, play Congo pr. example and you will get 4 color, but no more. For *** emulation there is 16 I believe.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.
