Hi Les73gTx,

how do You manage to do a highscore without operating the gates? You must have nerves like steel to stand the ball drains on the lanes.

Regards

Michael

Well,  in the many hours of playing I have come to realize that the "Magic Save" works on its own without any user input. I believe that you need to complete the Dragon from breathing fire to get them to work automatically. So if you go down the outlane right away without completing anything on the table the gates do not operate. It took me a while to figure that out and I am not 100% sure it is completing the Extinguish Dragon's Flame that makes them work. I will try to get my wife to play long enough to see if that is the case.

Hi Les,

the gates close, if You roll over the flashing rollover switches inside the lane. My constant problem is a ball going up after a try to catch it on the flipper.

Regards

Michael

Yes this triggers the gate to close but if I happen to go down the lane right away after launching the ball it does not work for me it will drain every time ... I don't do a lot of catching or trapping the ball .. but I will loose a ball that way easily enough ... it is a challenge to play this table for sure and I have only hit the high score 2 times out maybe 100 times played so far ... I am not very good .. lol

Hi Les,

I will add a variable "SubstMagnaSaveButtons" to the configuration section, that combines the flipper and magic save buttons. This way You will trigger the gates everytime You activate a flipper.

Maybe this will help You guys outside there with no magna save buttons on Your cab. Please let me know how it works.

Regards

Michael

What do you mean "guys without magna save buttons" mfuegemann.  I HAVE magna save buttons and I may use your option.  I'm getting too dang slow to get to the buttons in time to save the ball.  LOL! In fact, you got a fix that will automatically hit the flippers? On a lot of tables I get the ball moving so fast that my flipper reaction is after the ball is already out of site in the center drain.

Am I getting old and slow, wait don't answer that!

I don't know if this is the place to post this question, but I'll ask any ways.  For some reason I can't get this particular table to load properly.  The backglass loads, but instead of loading the playfield, the play field just shows a very large DMD.  My other VP tables load and play with no problem.  I am using VP 9.9 and latest files for VPmame and everything else.  Any advice?

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply arngrim.  That was the first thing that I tried.  I've tried replacing the rom with a fresh download and also downloaded multiple versions of this table.  They all do the same thing.  I have another table that I was having this same problem with and haven't ever been able to fix that one either.  I don't see any obvious settings in the table script, but am really confused that this doesn't work and doesn't even have any errors.  It'll totally play in the background but I can never see the playfield.  Any other thoughts or things I can try?  I've googled this problem for hours/days/weeks now and certain tables just don't work (I can't find the other right now that was having this same issue).

Thanks to anyone who can help with advice...please PM me if you have anything I can try.

Tried with VP 9.20 and same results...  When I see the LARGE DMD where the playfield is I hit ALT+TAB to see if I could see any errors.  As soon as I did an error popped up that said:  Fatal error:  HRESULT 88760868 at ..\RenderDevice.cpp:406

I Googled that error and didn't come up with anything useful even after removing the specific numbers from the search.  Was I not meant to play this awesome table?  Please help

I do and this problem of the playfield not showing is only happening on a couple tables.  D&D and another one...  it just shows a giant DMD instead of the playfield.  YOu can start the game and hear it play but you can not see the ball or the playfield.

It sounds to me like you changed the default for vpinmame to run in full screen mode if the dmd is the size of the playfield. One way to try this is try a VPM table you've never tried before but whatever the case run the vpinmame setup.exe and ensure "run full screen" or whatever it's called is NOT checked

Is there any suggested settings to give the table a little more depth?

The flippers are a bit flat looking with no "3D" aspect like most

cab tables have.

Other than that the table is great! Haven't played a real one

since the mid 1990s!

I did make some adjustments to the table to get a little more "pop" for the 3D laid back look. It is really late or early here so I will have to get the settings for you tomorrow. Just can't sleep right now so I was looking at the forums ...

You can find some settings for this table if you search for a thread called "what about some depth of field". It's at the bottom of page 2.
Cheers.

Another option for the settings for you.

That results in this

If I remember correctly I had manually move the lights a little to get them in the correct position. They are a little off in respects to size but I was happy with the settings so I left them. I adjusted them in the same view as the settings for the table lay back ... I right clicked them and unlocked them and then dragged them where they needed to be.

Hope this helps you
