I keep getting audio glitching when I use Direct B2S backglasses. I get static, pops and hisses in the audio and sounds get cut off. I tried disabling the onboard audio and using a separate sound card but the audio issues continue. If I switch the tables back to using UVP the audio works fine. Any ideas?

Hello, I went to use the b2s server last night. I am on Windows 7 64 and have the correct .net framework installed and am using version 1.01 of the server. Also I put the files into my vp tables directory. When I run B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp.exe as admin I get the error "Cannot create activeX component". I know that ICPjuggla was having this issue but did not see that it was resolved. Does anyone have any ideas?

Also I tried to find the unblock option as detailed in this post but did not see it. http://www.vpforums....e=9#entry200109

I'm just locating "regasm.exe" of .NET framework 4.0 and calling this for 32bit and 64bit to register my dll.

I expect the framework at "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319". So these are the commands I'm executing.

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\regasm.exe "B2SBackglassServer.DLL" /codebase

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\regasm.exe "B2SBackglassServer.DLL" /codebase

Maybe try to run these commands one by one in a DOS box. Don't forget to start this DOS box as Admin. What's happening?

Nevermind, I am an idiot...

Has anyone found a solution to the crash on exit problem that does not involve the Ddraw=0?  I understand this solution causes the DMD to shrink and in most cased it's not that big a deal. However on tables like Checkpoint and Monster Bash the DMD's are extremely tiny.  Any solutions other than Ddraw?

Crash on exit? Beside that this topic is about the designer ;) - since i put this routine in every dB2S table, i have no crashes whatsoever.

sub Table_Exit ' in some tables this needs to be table1_exit or <tablename>_exit
Controller.Stop
end sub

I have fallen a bit behind... but will try this later today to see if it helps for me. I only get crashes when fiddlin' while setting up the db2s, but i just make sure to save after each change so i don't lose anything, and i exit and restart after every change as well... This will be much better if it works.
Hoping this will be a global setting soon!!
Cheers,
Maceman

adding that routine to the script for each table solved my crash issues, I'm sure it will be the same for you.

Awesome Herweh. Now I kinda wish I had a PC lying around that wasn't my cab, not the most ideal working environment. Maybe I'll just virtualize a copy of Windows on one of my Macs. :)

Thanks for all your work. Its been really fun playing again.

Any chance that we could attach the image used for those using hyperpin. The image used in HP-Mediapack is often not the same as used in the b2s-backglasses.

So that when we flip through the tables the backglass-image is the same as used by the directb2s. The transition looks better that way.

This has always bothered me since rosves B2S came out.

With UVP you got the right image from the start.

I know this is petty stuff, but we're all perfectionists here, right? ;)

Hi Johnny, I have added a pretty cool feature in the current server: Take a screenshot of a running backglass and save it whereever you want to.

Get into the settings and enter a valid path with the 'Screenshot path' button. This is the path where the screenshots are created and of course you can enter the "Hyperpin-VisualPinball-Media-Backglass" path as destination. Select a image file type (PNG is fine) and the settings are done. Don't forget to save the settings.

Now start a table, set the focus to the backglass and press the 'Print screen' button (or press 'I'). You will hear a camera sound :-) and your screenshot is done, named like the backglass (of course with the selected image file extension) and saved.

Please notice: A already existing image file will be overwritten immediatelly.

Have fun, Herweh.

How do I set the path for a screenshot? I am getting an error but no clue on how to set it to save the screenshot.

Hi Peter,

just right-click on the backglass and a settings menu will pop up. There is the "screenshot path" button.

You can also just press "print screen" to load the desktop images into Your clipboard. The just paste it into Your preferred graphics program.

Nice utility!  I'm trying to make a B2S, and added in 4 reels for player 1-4 scores.  Trying to make one for HPPOA table (harry potter Pris of azkaban).  i have tried between 6-8 digits for score, but each time, i am getting the player 1 score showing up in the reel for player 2, and no other scores show (they do in the DMD area).  Also, "ball 1" or other shows up in the player 4 reel, and "Extra" in 3rd reel, "ball" in 4th reel.  How do I know how to set up the number of places for the score, and how do I know which digits to assign to this?  I have selected "score", and player 1-4 respectively.  A credit reel doesn't show up anything at all.  Is there any information I can glean from the DMD as to how to assign the proper scores to the proper area?  The base rom for this is Rush 2112.

Thank you!

I don't think that table uses a rom.

So I think you would have to script it into the table as if it were an EM table to use backglass for scoring.

EDIT:

If the original table came with a backglass, you could import that into the designer and check the numbers you need that way.

Hi, is there a way to do commands from an original table to show lights in the b2s or let the b2s do an anmiation. I have made a table for myself that does an anmation and show the lights but i cannot call anything from the script. Is there an option that i can use?

is the b2s editable so i can see the code there? i see that active backglasses uses a rom, i only make original tables without a rom. So how can i do an animation from an original table without a rom? I posted this in the beginning in a topic but didn't get any reply. I hope somebody knows this or can help out. Or i just need to learn how to make a pup pack.
