Any idea on why 10.8 crashes for me. 10.7.4 runs fine.

Hi Toxie

I´ve reported before in Github that there is no enough depth and objects renderization on VP 10.8 untill last version like VP 10.7x for the same Reshade settings.

It got better a bit but it is necessary to adjust in Reshade to get something similar but is not constant for all tables.

I play in 3D TV - Line interlaced mode.

I don´t know about VP 10.8 GL version for VR. I will test and report.

Thank you

Login to github, go to visual pinbal, click the actions tab and select the latest master branch. Not standalone

Edit : https://github.com/v...runs/5448548136 is for now the latest one (but can be old in 1 minute)

I also only find 1271 (beta 3) for download. Could it be that the other versions are only downloadable if you Sign In / Sign Up? Only the betas are for all?

If you are following Mike Da Spike's instructions, immediately above, and you can't get the latest builds, then yes, you would want to sign in.

*edit*  I'm wondering if it would be helpful to post instructions for finding the latest builds in the first post in this thread.

through Mike Da Spike's instructions I got the most current version, but I need to have a GitHub account...

but here, for some reason that I still can't imagine, any version of the new VPX8 doesn't work... I can open the program, load the table in the editor but it doesn't run to play... immediately comes the Windows message saying that the program stopped working and needs to be closed...

so I will continue on version VPX7 and update only when version 8 is official

Does it do this if set to non exclusive fullscreen and Desktop mode?

in any situation it closes with error message :(

what I found strange is that the program does not accept any change in video/graphics preferences, after being closed "by error" it returns with the previous predefined settings.

Yeah, latest 1309 VPinballX-10.8.0-1309-c7c7693- is working for EM B2s's again for me, but it does stutter a lot.  If I disable B2s under settings it becomes solid again.  Getting close, yeah!  Thanks JSM174.   I can at least capture all my VR tables, thanks.

Just tried out latest VPinballX-10.8.0-1309-664fcbd- and I have much less stutter, thanks

There were two ways I found the link to the beta 3 version. One was through the VR pinball guide doc with hyperlink and the other through VP Forums link, this was to Beta 1 though.

I have just grabbed the 1309 link Slydog posted but I still get 10.8 crashing.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate with 8 GB of ram and trying to install x86 versions of VpinballX 10.8.

@teisen and @mrbungle,

I have an app crash when playing gl version in cabinet mode.
I created https://github.com/v...ball/issues/610 for it.
If you experience also app crashes with normal version, I think the best way is create an issue for this as well.

I noticed about the settings as well. My assumption is that the application will save the settings to ini during closure of vpx.
Open the editor, make changes and close it. Than test your table in thevplayer

Hi. Running the latest beta (at the moment) 1309.

I'm having a very weird issue with DOF.

My setup has flipper contactors and a shaker motor. Everything works as expected in 10.7.4. I have Preferences -> Configure Keys -> DOF Controller Options set to "DOF" for the shaker motor and flippers. In 10.7.4, I get only DOF, no sounds for those two, again as expected.

With 10.8.0-1309, with the same Preferences, when I first run the table and hit the right flipper, I get only the DOF. As soon as I hit the left flipper, I get DOF AND the flipper sound. And when I tap the right flipper, it is now doing DOF AND the sound.

I've tested this by running two different tables (Metallica Premium and Medieval Madness).

I didn't see anything in this thread or in the Github issues with DOF.

I have exactly the same problem. I have Windows 7 64bit on my Cab. But on my slow Windows 10 PC it is working without any crashes. Probably a Windows 7 Problem?

Well, I know I'm and old guy, and I'm also always late to update my OS, but Windows 10 was released in 2015, that's 8 years ago. Windows 7 was end of life in 2020, so you can't expect new compilers to support Windows 7 anymore. So all of you running Windows 7 will have problems not only with VPX but with any other program or game that gets an update, not to talk about drivers. So, maybe time for an OS upgrade? :)

Testing out lastest 1312 build with VR and b2s is working very well again for me, yeah!.  My issue is I can't seem to quit out of a table that is launched with PinballX if I don't disable b2s in the options.  If I have it disabled everyting works fine, but if I enable I can play the table, but when I hit the quit key (from PinballX) screen goes black and I hear a ding, and I don't get back into the PinballX table selection menu.  Very strange.  Any ideas how I can help diagnose this issue?  Thanks

PS. I hope everyone who has access to a VR HMD has tried VPX in VR, its totally incredible!

Hi Slydog43...I don't have VR yet but it's on my short list of wanted toys.  Just to clarify your current issue for those much more wiser than me...if you run a table directly from VPX with the B2S enabled everything works.  Correct?  The issue is only when you run through PinballX.

Check out my website for any latest updates or information on current builds that I am working on.
