Keep modding Bigus. For someone to criticize another who is offering up something for free is ungrateful. If you don't like it don't download it. That type of criticism doesn't encourage others to even give it a try.

I usually like the visual improvements of these mods, but in several cases, the 'hockey puck'-style physics changes are the reason that breaks them for me.
I still appreciate the work going into the mods and I realize that some people may like the altered and often easier gameplay, but for me, the more realistic the physics are, the better the table becomes.

Thanks for the feedback htamas. Setting the physics is always a dilemma. Do I make it difficult or easy? I decided on a middle-aged feel for the rubbers and medium difficulty, mainly to encourage new people to the hobby. When I have a friend over and I'm showing them VP, they never use nudge (DT) and if a game lasts 30 seconds due to over-difficult setup, they don't get a very good first impression and show little further interest. I don't sweat it too much about settings and components that are relatively easy to import for more experienced users. There's so much compromise but it's very deliberate. Personally, I take it as it comes and make a fist of it - whatever it is. Not unlike dropping a coin into a machine you randomly encounter and not knowing what you'll get - out of level, gammy flipper, wobbly legs etc. So, I hope you understand that it's not that I don't know how to set the physics this way or that, it's for the casual players to have a bit more fun and maybe get involved. My main thrust with the mods is the visual side because you can't readily import that stuff. This mod has a new playfield image, for instance. It's built from new photos that were posted by mjr recently (Thanks mjr). The needs of the many........

Cheers :)

First i want to pre-face this by offering my sincerest apologies to Bigus. I realize my comments came across terribly and in the most unflattering way. I realize i was caught up in an old mentality instilled by some toxic people in the vpin community. So for that i am sorry.

Although i May not agree with some of his practices, i should snd will be more appreciative. While i dont see the major differences in a lot of his tables this may be in fact due to my own customizations.

Im glad he explained his decision for this mod and what it represents. It gave me a better perspective and made me think that i should be more receptive to content.

So with that said Ill try this mod out. While i do prefer s more real world physics as i want the cab to play more realistic, its nothing that i cant tweak on my own. Same goes for some of the SSF sounds which i prefer from the G5K version. I dont want to be able to score millions of points without being frustrated :)

Physics are largely a personal preference, everyone has a different idea.

I tweak or totally redo physics on many tables that many people like just as they are.

The changes usually result in my having crap for a score, because i suck.
But i like how the table feels better, but that means exactly 0 on someone else's pc or cab.

If one is very picky, then no one can make suitable physics but one's self, just how it goes.

Audio is probably another area of personal preference in some aspects

I am absolutely anal about 3d positioning, and that extends to the backglass, and so you would probably

a) not like much of what i do to it for my own use, or find that it does not work right
which it admittedly probably will not if you do not have 8 discrete audio channels in your cab

b) find that you can not even hear some of the backglass sounds because they are redone in 7.1 channel
and you have nothing running on the center or LFE channels to play the sounds with, and i move sounds around inside the backbox, so to speak
and other fun stuff

But for my audio set up it is great.
Realistic? Hell no!
No pinball table has 8 channel dolby audio, not even its real life mechanical sounds boast that much separation,
No one plays with their damned head stuck up through the center of the playfield,

and it does not sit well with what is the generally accepted audio hardware setup of a typical pincab

But i like it, it's fun.

Dear Bigus: Your table is fantastic for me. Thank you very much for your great work!

Anyway, I can not get the music and speech sounds. I can listen only the table sounds (bumpers, flippers and so on, but not the one from the vpmame) All the others VPX tables sounds work fine. I tried to adjust volume and it indicates that it is close to max, sounds and samples are checked, but it is the only table that I can not listen the sounds.

Could anybody help me, please? Thank you very much.

Sounds like more of a ROM thing, as bigus is not setting sound to 0 in the table script
and the sounds you speak of all come from the ROM

Do you get any sound on this ROM when testing it in vpinmame's setup.exe?

Which ROM do you have and where did you download it from?

i prefer a tight rein on the ball so that on hitting the flipper it's relatively dead like on Williams tables. that and a strong flip with plenty of bounce. one of the reasons the tables from the Williams /bally stable we're successful

Are you able to disable the magnet on this table by chance? I'd just like to have the option if possible

Starting at line 166 in the script are the 3 magnets. Change the 8 to 0 in each magnet to disable them.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've ran the setup.exe and it says my ROM is fine. I've turned up ROM volume in the cabinet and installed Pinvol after 2 days of trying other work arounds.  All of my software is up to date And I'm using vpx 8, 64 bit.

The table was built with 10.7 and works properly in 7.  10.8 is beta software and not guaranteed to work properly just yet. Stick with 7 for now, if you want joy :)
