File Name: Disney Pixar Onward (Original 2021) Manbearpig 1.1

File Submitter: Manbearpig

File Submitted: 28 Dec 2021

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME - MOD Tables

Author(s): Manbearpig<br />JPSalas<br />Hauntfreaks
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1980
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is really for the kids of the players here. My kids love these reskinned tables and ask to play them all the time. Figured I would take a shot at doing one.
So this is my first full mod. I didn't realize how many others had used Skateball as a base until after I started. The one thing I did do is make this an alias so you can still play Skateball.

Update 12/31-
Watched the Scotty Wic YT videos and made a Guinevere van and a Quest Mix cassette 3D models.
Phenom also gave me the script to change tracks with the magna save buttons as well.

Mods-
I redid all the plastic image files and removed the jagged and wavy edges, so they have a smoother look.
I added a short wall behind the upper flipper because I kept losing balls up there during testing.
Altered a few trigger sounds.
Added music to the script (there is a Mega link in the text doc. I have never used Mega so not sure if there is a traffic limit).

In the zip-
Table
Back Glass
Wheel
Topper (mp4, that's a new process I'm still learning).
Text doc (Mega music link and alias)

Created/Mod in VPX6
Will need Sambuild 3.3 or higher for alias.
Table runs on skatebll rom
I also turned off the rom sound.

And of course all credit for this table belongs to JPSalas and Hauntfreaks

Any and all feedback welcome. I'm sure I'll tackle another at some point.

Thanks for your work.

I'm not an expert, but for solenoid cabinet users like myself we have to rename the game from "Onward" to "skatebll" on script line 20 for them to work.

if you are running Sambuild 3.3 or higher you should have an VPAlias.txt file in you VPinMame folder. in the text document add Onward, skatebll and save.

Yes I know, but solenoids didn't work even with that so with my proposed solution everything works fine now.

I downloaded the music files and set the script to read:

Line 137 I have Set folder = FileSystemObject.GetFolder("D:\Visual Pinball\Music\Onward") 'Comment out if using custom path

When I try to play the table it says Bass music\ sound library cannot load D:\Visual Pinball\Music\Onward etc...

What is causing this? My visual pinball is on the D: drive.

Put your music files on C:\Visual Pinball\Music\Onward and left the script untouched and it will be fine. Worked for me.

Here is the original line 137

137 Set folder = FileSystemObject.GetFolder(musicPath + myMusicFolder) 'Comment out if using custom path

If you run the table as is it says path not found so you have to tell it the path for your visual pinball music like I did. There is another table called Seinfeld where I had to label my music folder and it worked

Set folder = FileSystemObject.GetFolder("D:\Visual Pinball\Music\Seinfeld") 'Comment out if using custom path so would it not be the same for this table?

I finally got it to work by adding this to the script just before line 137. I noticed this was in the Seinfeld table and not this one. It is probably because my D: drive is my main drive and the C: drive is very limited.

136 musicPath = "D:\VisualPinball\Music\"
