just played several games. The  damn computer is pretty good! I like the Star War dialogue too. Just curious. ----if the computer gets a higher score than my personal high, will it overwrite mine? I hope not!

Well technically I'm the one that will be overwriting your high score;)  Sorry brother that's the name of the game. If it beats your high score then yes, it absolutely does. And on all versions of the game using that rom. The only way to prevent this would be to end the game by hitting esc. before the game ends. But just to be safe... I would write your high score down somewhere. Or change the difficulty from Expert;)

Bob. You just need to hit ESC once he gets too close - or PLAY BETTER ;-)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Ass is currently chapped and beat down...all thanks to the computer. LOL

But Yes this is way cool for sure. :)

So how hard it would it be to add this functionality to any other table? I am gonna assume that there is a freaking ton of scripting and surgical like tuning. And it would be a very lengthy process to add it to another table. But might I be wrong? Can it be "adaptable" to other tables too? Just curious as to the difficulty of implementation in other games.

So long has its a system 6 similar to Firepower it's pretty straight forward. You just have to "tune" the shots and set-up it's shot priority or strategy. I'm currently working on porting it into a DMD or Williams WPC to see if it's at all possible, or at least within reason.

The AI will nudge.  Is the machine tilting?

Ah. Yes. Now I noticed. That is what happens. This AI is really a bad looser ;-)

I am floored, almost speechless at what I just saw.  I've seen a few "table plays itself" experiments before but NEVER something that felt so... organic?  I mean the nudging feels right, I love the called shots lights, the flipper passes, etc.  I love how the damn AI slows the game down to aim it's shots, like real players do.

Hyperbole perhaps but I can honestly say any of you guys who aren't good knowledgeable pinball players need to try this out, see what Hal does and learn from it.  I'm... I'm still floored right now at how you guys nailed it.  I had some expectations but jeesus Christ this is unreal

Fan-tas-tic feature!

Not only it flips the ball but it also knows to play pinball like a pro...it can do ball catches, do a ball flip from one flipper to the other, knows how to handle the roll-over buttons at the top, knows what to shoot for....amazing to see and a 'tutorial' as well ...

Only thing is...it plays better then I do so as soon as it wants to write it's HS:  :killwithfire:

Just when the AI kills my HS, i hope i don't kill my Mirror!

I kept the Original version of this table along with this version and used the "NVOffset (x)" in the script. That way both version of the table will keep separate scores. Doesn't solve your issue, but is a really cool feature. More info below.

***Find the following lines in the script and add the NVOffset command after ".GameName cGameName"***

With Controller

     .GameName cGameName

NVOffset (1) "Then (2) for the next table using the same ROM, and so on"

     .Run

End With

I used this NVOffset command on the NFL mods, for exactly the same reason.

So the highscores wouldn't be overwritten on original table.

Very handy when you have more than one table using same rom.

Truly amazing, thanks 3rdaxis and Roth. I was badly beaten on my first game. At first, it was a little freaky, then the wow and cool factor set it. Great fun!
