I'm going to have to agree with you.

That yellow goldish color just isn't poppin. It goes with the Tatooine desert theme, but looks like crap compared to other version.

I finished the playfield lights, and the plastics.

Added GI Color change toggled with buy-in key.

Here is regular version with plastics lit...

capture125_t.png

Here is Psychedelic version with plastic lights off...

capture244_t.png

and with regular GI lights on...

capture323_t.png

and with blue GI lights...

capture418_t.png

And red...

capture514_t.png

and green...

capture612_t.png

I may just make both versions, but really am considering dropping the regular version!!

I am pretty close to starting on adding fluppers excellent flashers!!

I also have a few more sound effects to add.

Then I will start on the backglass.

Ok back to work!!

I am so addicted to working on these tables!!!

This was just a side project I was working on to kill time, while I am waiting on HiRez00 and the Halloween table.

Thanks for your time.

I like the "regular" color scheme. It has more of a classic vibe.

Just a quick update..

I added some bumpers to choose from with magna-save button.

I actually added  25 or more, but decided to go with a much smaller amount.

I decided the "plain" looking ones were the best.

Blue...

capture126_t.png

Red...

capture245_t.png

Yellow...

capture324_t.png

Green...

capture515_t.png

I got side tracked and went back to sounds, and found a whole bunch of alien voices!!! For a total of 356!!!

So this is what is added...

Added 356 Alien voice sound effects. (All from the Star Wars universe)
1 of 23 Jawa voice sound effects is played on lower rollovers.
1 of 177 Alien voice sound effects are triggered by kicker, and played every 8 seconds during attract mode.
1 of 156 other Alien voice sound effects are played on drain of ball.
Added option in script to change the in game music. (12 songs in total.)
0= no in game music. (The in game ambience is still played.)
1= This is Default setting and is set to only play 3 original songs that have no singing in them.
2= Plays the above + the 2 original songs with singing.
3= Plays the above + 7 more unoriginal songs. (Unoriginal = wasn't in movie.)
There are 1 of 9 Cantina ambience sounds is played while waiting to plunge ball, or game over.

I can't stop playing this table!!

Ok now I will start on the flashers.

i like psychedelic with blue lights most. but you should maybe add somehow more contrast in what form whatsoever to the plastics, as otherwise it's a bit hard to distinguish between playfield and table elements. apart from that amazing! :)

I agree Toxie.

I was thinking of adding the Aurebesh lettering around the edges of all the plastics. I actually was thinking of having them light up too.(Shape light to fit Aurebesh lettering.)

Also I actually moved the plastics pic down a little, so Greedos fingers would line up. Probably not a good idea if I am trying to make the plastics stick out from the playfield.

You can see in the first few pics how the fingers are offset on lower bumpersling, compared to now, where they line up perfectly.

I have added some flashers to top of table, but not sure exactly what colors I am going to use. I added green flashers to match Greedo, but then I also like the blue flashers.

I will probably make a version each with different color flashers, and just try them out to see which looks best.

Here is the green flashers...(Hard to capture pic that looks good. They look alot better in action.)

newbitmapimage4_t.png

and after the peak of the flash to see flasher object better. lol

newbitmapimage20_t.png

I will be releasing a Regular and Psychedelic version. (Its not much work to convert playfield and plastics to the psychedelic version.)

These voice sound effects are really amazing!! They are all alien voice effects except for one. There is one quote from Boba Fett saying "Your credits better be good!!"

I added it to the Greedo sounds when player 1 start key is pressed, and also to the attract mode.

This table really makes you feel like you are on the streets of Mos Eisley.

And when playing, you feel like you are in the cantina playing this pinball table!!

The default 3 songs are...Both instrumental Cantina songs played by Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes,(The 5 aliens band seen in movie.).

bumper000000000000_t.jpg

And the 3rd default instrumental song is played by the Max Rebo Band and its called Jabba's Baroque Recital.

fe31_t.jpg

With the in-game music option set at 2,

Another 2 songs are played with singing.

One is called Lapti Nek, and the other is called Jedi Rocks. Both songs were in the movie.

With the in-game music option set at 3, you have all the above plus 7 more songs.

There are 2 more versions of Lapti Nek done by MECO and some other Star Wars music done by MECO.

I was going to add a funny rap song sung by the emperor and darth vader, but I didn't want to push it. lol

I tell you the sounds on this table are perfect, and make you feel like you are there!!!

Ok back to work!!

I was thinking of adding 4 to 5 flashers above the plastics, but I think just those top 2 will be above, and the rest will be under plastics.

Got sidetracked trying to add border to plastics.

The way these plastics are shaped, was making this a very difficult task.

I tried adding that Aurebesh text around edges, but the edges of plastics have weird shapes to where it never looked right.

Even tried just regular border line, but still looked too weird.

So I just turned the acryilic layer to red, and now it has a more even border around plastics, without it looking too weird.

With border around plastics...

capture127_t.png

Back to work on flashers.

Dig the outline. Gives it some depth and the increased ability to distinguish between the playfield art and plastics. Have you tried other colors like the orange from his vest or green even?

Xenonph, I think you can add a second light on the right eye of the extraterrestrial on the playfield

For example, if the name of the light on the left eye is "Light5", name it "Light5a" and add the following in the script

Sub UpdateLamps
    Light5a.State=Light5.State

End Sub

So, perhaps you can move other lights around the two eyes and not only make them point on the left eye

Thanks for the info Batch.

That is exactly what I was thinking of doing.

I was just going to have the left eye light up when the right eye is lit up.

I don't think adding the arrows around second eye will help. So that eye will just light up when other eye is lit up.

These lights are for when you drop all center targets, you get the corresponding score on light, and this is why they are only around the one eye that is below those particular targets.

I did something like this on the Halloween table me and HiRez00 are working on.

There are some lights at top of Halloween table that blink, and I added lights to DT Backdrop that blink at same time.

I just added them back then to the update lamps sub, like you showed in your example.

Funny I was never taught this, but looks like I did it exactly how you showed in your example above.

Thanks for reaffirming that I was doing this correctly!!

With blue flashers installed. (Looks better in action.)

I dont want to go crazy with the flashers, so I am going to probably add 2 more under the lower bumperslings, and that will be it.

I will tie the upper 2 flashers to drop target hits and other events.

newbitmapimage30_t.png

Going to work on a few non-voice sound effects, and then maybe start on the dB2S backglass.

I still need to make new drop targets and spinner.

Unfortunately, HiRez00 has been busy with his real life business. (Unfortunate for us, but great for him!!)

He just sent me message yesterday saying he just got a new contract and wont be around very much between April and middle of June.

And as many may know, he runs a business dealing with scary stuff for Halloween.

Last June, we almost had Last Starfighter table completed, but then he told me his peak business months are from June until Halloween, and work on that table was halted, so I am guessing he will be busy until after Halloween.

So that Halloween table might be completed before this next Halloween. Just a guess though.

We already have the graphics and sounds added to table, but HiRez00 is deciding which sounds he wants to keep, and which events to move them too.

On his tables, he controls what sounds are added, and what event he wants them added too. I just script them in how he wants it.

So there is nothing that I can do, until he decides what he wants to do with the sounds.

As for the Cantina table, I think it will be ready for release early next month.

Just had another friend start on backglass graphics lastnight.

I am keeping busy, while waiting for HiRez00 and Halloween table, and Last Starfighter table.

He is taking care of his family, and in my book, family comes first!! You all would do same, as would I.

Have no fear!!! All of these tables will be completed!!

I am thinking of uploading this table tonight.

Otherwise it may be long time before it is finished.

I have been busy getting ready to move (My new place will be ready in July "they say".), and havent had alot of time to work on this, and Cryptdoctor21 has been working longer hours at his job.

My friend Cryptdoctor21 has helped with this project (Huge thanks!!!), and added red borders to the plastics and reshaped them. He also made the dB2S backglass.(I just supplied the pic.)

I wanted to add Cantina ads that showed during attract mode, and also make the playfield with primitive (something that wasn't possible until not long ago.), so I can toggle from psychedelic playfield to normal playfield, before I was going to upload it to community, but I think it is good as is, and can be updated with cantina ads and other things, when we have more time. (It might be updated in a week, or next month sometime. Who knows?)

Even though the version number will say version 1.0, this table is not complete in my eyes, without the above 2 things.

I will be uploading 2 versions...regular and Psychedelic versions.

The only difference is the Psy version has blue GI Lights as default, and of course the playfield, plastics and bumper pic are psychedelic looking.

Here are a few pics...

capture387_t.png

capture2122_t.png

capture437_t.png

capture536_t.png

Just waiting to see if I can get Cryptdoctor21 to take some snapshots of table with his setup, as my snapshots are only 720p resolution.

Either way, I will be uploading this table in 5 hours.

We can add all our updates anytime after that.

The music and all voice sounds have been done since Feb. I did add over 60 non voice sound effects more recently (Last month I think.) I would have released this table back then, but I was not happy with the plastics. So huge thanks to Cryptdoctor21 for the help on plastics and dB2S backglass!!

I have really enjoyed working on this table, and hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.

Stay tuned!!

PS:

Those are not just random symbols on border of backglass.

They are phrases.

PSS:

For those who dont want to wait for Hi-Resolution snapshots, here are 2 personal download links, which will disappear after I have uploaded tonight...

Check post 16 in this topic, for wheel image that Joey2001 made here...(THANKS Joey!! I haven't had time to make wheel yet!!)

https://www.vpforums...637#entry421980

EDIT: Upload approved.

Let me know what you think.
