@32assassin thanks for showing that screenshot. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I just recopied all of the files over once again from the 3.2 beta zip, and what do you know, now it works (and it shows up when testing roms now as in your screenshot).

No clue what happened the first time, but you rock for getting me to try again.

On to feedback on the table. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I've only played it for a short bit, but the quality is fantastic and I think I'll have a lot of fun with this one. The kids will also be sure to enjoy it (even though they don't even know who Tom & Jerry are :( )

the official PINAME DLL does not include hacked roms.  and by hacked roms I mean    SAM colored roms.

if you are using colored roms,  you should wait until a new dll that contains hacked roms AND the T&J  rom is released.

Thanks for this reminder, 32. I'm still running Carny's 3.1 VPM with the color rom support. I am excited to play this table, but will wait until it has been added to the color rom support version on the other site.

it can basically be played with the old hollywood heat ROM (without updating VPM to beta), that was used for Beach Bummer also. Just the words are wrong then...

Or you could just add 3 lines to table script and make the rom show any color you want.

So starting at Line 51 add these 3 lines after Line 51 so it will look like this...

         .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = ROMSounds
         .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_red") = 0
         .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_green") = 0
         .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_blue") = 255

These numbers will turn LEDs Blue. You can adjust these 3 RGB numbers to make any color you want.

You will then probably want to add to exit sub to turn the LEDs back to regular orange.
(Actually you won't need to add this Exit Sub stuff with the new Tom and Jerry rom, as no other table uses this same rom name.)

Sub TomandJerry_Exit
        Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound")=1
        Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_red") = 255
        Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_green") = 69
        Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_blue") = 0
        Controller.Stop
End Sub

So for those who do not want to wait for color rom, this is a nice alternative.

Carry on.

It was added yesterday by Carny ... just to inform you guys.

Now, remember to press that like button - that's the least sign of appreciation you should show him for keeping us up to date with our favorite flavor of VPM.

Hi, I got my PinDMD v3 working with VPM 3.2 beta but almost half of the DMD display is cut off on Tom and Jerry, beach bums and clash. Any ideas???

Limited support for those old Gottlibe 80s I'm afraid. Freezy is working on some alphanumeric stuff. I'm not sure if this can be the solution. But, for now I've just disabled the external dll and use a backglass with the scoring panel.

this is for the basic PINMAME color profiles,  we are talking about colored projects that require a modified rom and a pal file.

SAM colored roms require a unique rom entry on the PINMAME list, something that is not available with the default PINMAME dll

I thought those color roms were only used for tables that have a DMD (Dot-Matrix Display) which all SAM tables have, and not for Scoring LEDs such as the one on this table.

Why would it not be easier just to add those script commands to change to the color of LEDs you want, or does the color rom and pal file allow you to change color on more than just the LEDs for this type of display?

As far as I know, these type of LED's display only one color.

Or are these color roms made specifically for people who use a real DMD?

you are right but you are missing my point,   I did not say anything about adding color to alpha numeric displays.

the default PINAME does not have the SAM colored rom listed in the rom list

if you use the default PINMAME dll and try to use colored roms you will get a missing rom / rom not found error.

this is why I sated  that anyone using colored roms should not use the default PINMAME dll (to use tomjerry.zip rom).

and should wait to install a dll that included the SAM colored roms and the tomjerry.zip rom.

I have read the posts in this thread. I downloaded the beta 3.2 pinmame. Made sure the gamename is tomjerry to match the rom. still getting attached script error.

I ran the install for vpinmame 3.2 and confirmed tomjerry is listed and tests out successfully. So I assumed I needed to change gamename to tomjerry (2nd screenshot) but then got the variable undefined msg. ARgh! I feel like this is right under my nose but it ain't clickin. What am I missing?

was a huge watcher of this cartoon and have them on DVD. So you can imagine my anxiety for wanting to get this working. ha ha
