Did you play any of the mp3's before moving them into your music folder?

If you did, you may have automatically added a tag to it, therefore rendering it useless.

Try deleting old music and download music again, and move it to music folder and see if that helps.

Alot of MP3's will not work with VP if a tag is added to them. That is why I make sure to remove all tags before using in table.

Hope this helps you.

Hey xenonph,

I think I figured out what was happening with the music errors, as I starting getting errors with several other of the included music files. I was making adjustments to the table, saving and then trying to play. That's when I got errors.

If I closed VPX, then reopen VPX and this table, it plays without the music errors. I tested this several times and have not had another error message since.  I hope this solved the issue and possibly helps someone in the future, should they come across the same errors.

Thanks again for this and your Empire table mod.  I love the sound and light effects on that one as well!

Hi Don,

Thanks for making a wheel for this table!! It is appreciated!!

Regarding the wheel you created,

Your upload will have to go through an approval process, which can take from 1 to 2 days and sometimes up to a week or more. Be patient, and I am sure it will be approved in a timely manner. Until then, nobody can see your upload. I am sure it looks great!! Can't wait to see it!!

I did include 3 different wheel images with the download, but I am not a cabinet user, so I am not sure if they are how cabinet people want them.

(Matter of fact I am not sure if the dB2S backglasses I included are how they want them either.)

I try to cater to the needs of the cabinet users even though I am only a Desktop user.

Have a great day!!

Carry on.

Thank you sir for the update.....the more music and sound bites from the show the better.

This is one hard table! Or perhaps I'm not very good...probably the latter. I just have not been able to get even close to the default high score of 500,000. I have to keep plugging away at it.....

Thanks again for a super table xenonph.

I actually was making a flasher version, but all the flashers didn’t look right to me.

I added purple flashers to bumpers and other areas, but they look pink when they flash.

(Think it has something to do with the lightmap or GI lighting that is turning the purple flashers pink.)

So I tried adding blue or red flashers to bumpers and other areas. It just doesn’t fit that purple playfield.

It’s the purple playfield that throws it all off.

I added red flasher and blue flasher on sides.

capture40_t.png

And here is what the bumpers look like when flashing...

capture60_t.png

capture-5_t.png

So I was going to wait to upload flasher version, until I find another playfield pic to use, but this is harder than you think to find another pic to use for plastics and playfield.

I may just upload this "pink" flasher version if I can't find another pic to use.

(These snapshots are from a 720 monitor at 1365 x 768 resolution and does not represent the actual size if played on 1080p monitor.)

Love this conversion!

I think the some of the sounds are triggering too many times , or maybe never stopping, maybe they're looping, or something like this.   by the end of the game I'm hearing multiple sounds playing over each other at the same time.  Just me, or anybody else?

Fresh download of the sounds, 7zip to expand and copy direct.  no munging with winamp or anything like this.

I will check into this...

Thanks for the info..it may be a timer not shutting off on drain.

EDIT:

Are you using the new version 1.01 as there was a timer fix on that version.

It's probably a simple (forehead slap) solution... How do I proceed after hitting player 1 start and it asks "How many of you are there?" ?  I've pressed every button on [the console and] the keyboard, did a search on 'how to start Battlestar Galactica pinball', read the rules in Table info....

Running VP 10.5.0 r3414

Tied changing to UseSolenoids=1

I've about exhausted my research, figure it out (trial and error) and learn from that.

Any advise? Please?

If there are credits, the ball should come out to the plunger when you press Player 1 start key.

Can you try the original table and tell me if it has the same problem?

Original table made by Allknowing2012 here...

http://www.vpforums....&showfile=11754

Not really sure what would cause this behaviour for you.

I am assuming you know how to add credits to tables.

You can insert credits for this table by pressing the 5 key, or the 3 key on keyboard.

The 5 key (tied to player 1 coin on my cabinet [old Mountain Dew promotional upright]) works like a charm.

Over the past few years of using VP, I have [actually] learned a lot.  For the most part I can fake my way through understanding (not to be confused with writing) the script files. Figure out I needed to update MAME for Stern tables (issues I had with Iron Man and Tron recently).  [Just the other day I learned about F6 while in the editor. That's pretty dang cool!]  I've even learned that when I start a table and it tells me 'Game xxxx not found', I need to get the rom file.

My issue here was.. I don't believe it told me it couldn't find scprn_l1 and I didn't even think to look in the script file for cGameName=.

   What sucks for me is there's even a link to the rom on the main dl page. Oddly enough, not on the Scorpion page you linked me to. Yet I thought to check the script this time.  LOL

Still learning (slowly but surely) but am totally loving figuring out the inner workings of these awesome tables you and everyone else create for us!!  Thank you for that!

Thanks for getting back to me.

Issue resolved. Kind of embarrassed. But learned something... well embedded something further in my noggin.

Wait for the new VPX.5 Beta release, where this will be fixed.

It is not a table issue, it had to do with the new Beta.

See post here...

http://www.vpforums....=36#entry407655

Either you can wait for the new beta to fix this issue, or you can use an older version of the VPX.5 beta, before this problem appeared.

You will find that any table that uses lights on DT backdrop will have this problem of them all disappearing.

So it is not just tied to my particular table.

Yeah I just noticed this on a couple of other tables as well, thanks for the answer! Hopefully there will be a new revision soonish. :)

Updated table yesterday with new JPSalas GI Effect.

Version 1.3

Moved plunger activated sounds to trigger in plunger lane.
Added JP's GI Effect script, so GI Lights blink with certain events.
(Plunger release, and drop targets activate GI Effect.)
(This proved to be really hard to implement on this table, because there are only GI Lights above the plastics, and below the plastics is lit up with a lightmap.(Basically like Shadows layer added to a flasher, except this is the GI lighting instead of shadows.)
So I had to add timers and call for the visibility of the flasher to match the GI Effect script.
Added GI lighting to DT Backdrop.
Added coin being inserted sound effect, into sound manager and implemented it. (Dropping of quarter in coin box.)
Added drain sound effect.(This sound was in sound manager but not tied to drain.)
Tied upper 2 flashers to bumper hit.
Changed height of drop targets from 1 to 0.01,(Tops can still be seen when dropped.)
Connected adv left and right bonus to red and blue flasher.
Adjusted sides of the flashers above plastics.(So they are not seen off table in DT mode.)

Hope you like it!!

Make sure you copied the included MP3's into your music folder.

Do you have the file 0BG03a.mp3 in your music folder?

I only get that type of error if I forget to add the mp3s to the music folder.

That particular MP3 is one of two in-game background musics played. A third is played when 2 locked balls is achieved.

Try downloading table again and copy all the MP3's over to your music folder.

Let me know if this helps you.
