I include an nvram with the table package, that has a 5 ball setting, and it is set on easy for the upper rollovers, (It lights up 2 rollovers, for 1 rollover hit.), which makes it easier to get the projector pics started.

.

Thank you for the quick response and explaining how it functions. The A key worked.

Sorry to bother you for another question (I'm sure I can look around and figure it out eventually) but, I see the nvram, I just don't know where it goes.

Look in your VPinMAME folder, (This VPinMAME folder is in your Visual Pinball folder), and you will see a NVRAM folder.

This is where you place the nvram file. Inside of the NVRAM folder.

Hey i have this table.
Except, it plays naughty pics

Yes, I thought, what a great table to turn into a Christmas table!

Turn something naughty, into something nice!

Turn an adult table into something kids could play.

We are a dying breed it seems, and nudity is not going to bring in a new generation of pinball players.

If you check the birthdays shown in the forums, we are averaging above 50 years old!

We need to get the next generation of pinball players to be more enthusiastic and as excited about pinball as we are!

I am afraid your "Hookers and Blow", will not bring in the younger generation. lol

lmao at gramps!

What kind of parent would let their child play a "Hookers and Blow" pinball table?

I am guessing the majority of them would not.

We need more kids themed tables.

Me?

Hmm, well, my childhood themes were Lovecraft and Tolkien and various other pantheons
We can do that?

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

With your help, I was able to update the nvram and customize the projector, backglass and playfield. It's been an absolute blast.

I have noticed the game seems choppy (or laggy) now, as if the frame rate dropped down to nothing (to use a film term). It's playable but I hope didn't inadvertently mess something up during the customization. Is there something I should look for to help with the gameplay?

I don't have this issue with other tables, so I don't believe it has to do with the computer itself.

Thanks again in advance.

Not sure what could be causing the lag.

Are you using the animated Fireplace backglass? That might be causing the choppiness.

To check, just use one of the non animated backglasses with it, and see if your lag goes away.

Or you might try shutting off the animated snow globe in the table script.

Look on Line 25 in the table script and you will see this...

SnowGlobe = 1   'Change to 0 to remove Apron Snow Globe

Change it to this....

SnowGlobe = 0   'Change to 0 to remove Apron Snow Globe

Hope this helps.

I'm using a backglass of my own that doesn't have the animated fireplace or most of the lights. It's a static image.

I tried changing the script to 0 for the snowglobe, but it still shows up.

Ok here is a guess on my part.

Did you add any pics of your own to the image manager for use with the projector?

If you did, try checking the size of them, and make sure they are not huge in resolution.

Did the original mod run fine, until you added your mods?

I did swap out all the projector images with my own, I tried to keep them small, mostly around 300-400kb jpegs (the dimensions vary quite a bit, tho). I swapped out the playfield as well, I matched the original dimensions and saved it as a webp.

I feel like it ran better before I made the changes. I'll try to play the original untainted file and see how it goes.

The original plays fine.... dang it. I'll go back through and see if I have a crazy huge image file somewhere.

Is there an external file somewhere that overrides the appearance? When I reinstalled the original table, the pattern on the tops of the bumpers changed from green to purple on both the original table and my modified version.

If you change the plastics, after selecting your bumper pic, it might do that.

I made it to where each plastics selection also toggles matching bumper pic.

So select your plastics first, and then change the bumper pic to desired one.

If you change the plastics afterwards, it will set it back to matching bumper pic.

I re-customized the newly installed version of the table and now everything is working normally. I'm not sure what I changed in the old one to make it buggy. Thank you for your help.

Any idea why setting the snowglobe to 0 doesn't remove it?

Any idea why setting the snowglobe to 0 doesn't remove it?

Damn! How did I screw that up?

Go to Line 79 in the script and you will see this....

          Case 0:PlayMusic"Christmas\CPA20.ogg":ITrigger.timerinterval=151000:ITrigger.timerenabled=1:SGAnimation.Enabled = True

Delete the last part of that Line so it looks like this...

          Case 0:PlayMusic"Christmas\CPA20.ogg":ITrigger.timerinterval=151000:ITrigger.timerenabled=1

Now the snow globe is gone.

Sorry about that! Thanks for the report!

It will be fixed before next Christmas!
